I've also found my cats seem to keep down the snake population, but they don't discriminate between good and bad snakes as I do.

Horses help keep snakes away from the barn, but they just lay in wait in the warm bedding and manure pile. Ohio has rattlers but around here only copperheads, SUPPOSEDLY. I hope they know that:D

Haven't seen any snakes here yet, but the weather this weekend has been super! 540-50's at night, then into the 80's, (nice in the shade:D) Great to be outside!!

I'm not even sure what kind of snakes they are, but we find some not much bigger than a pencil in the yard every year. I was mowing and using the string trimmer on the next door neighbor's yard a week ago and killed one with the string trimmer before I even saw it.

Meet my neighbors yesterday. Very nice folks, very into horses. I haven't been on a horse since I was 17. They even offered to teach my girls how to ride. As we get here more I will take them up on it.

Spring in the RGV is great. Many of the Winter Texans have left for the cold north country. Many of the field are being prepared for crops. We are getting many days with clouds all day. South East winds bring them in from the gulf. When the winds change this coming weekend it will be sun and higher temperatures.
In 2 weeks we will be heading north. Planning to stop at some of our TX friends places and check out/help with their winter/spring projects.

Yep, Dennis, the bluebonnets were thick yesterday along Spur 408 from Loop 12 to I-20 in Dallas. And Mountain Creek Lake appeared clearer than I would have expected.

Better plan on staying 2 years if you want to complete the paver project! You know that 10 week project that should be done by now........

Speaking of trees and snakes, found this guy while out riding the other weekend.
Some places you gotta look up as well as down when walking around

I haven't see any either which is highly unusual since it's been warm enough for a month already. Maybe the dog is harassing them at night with all that barking, maybe I just need to look up ahhhhhhh.
