I agree, but it does help keep the Yankees out. Whenever I hear one complain about the heat, I just tell them it's great weather, no matter how hot it is.
I do the same thing! And as bad as the heat can get, I'd still rather be in barns in the heat than in the cold. If I get on enough clothes to walk outside on a cold day, I look and feel like the Michelin Man. I don't do cold! (And for me, anything below 50 is too cold!)

Lou, you are too funny. Oshkosh is on my bucket list, but having children late in life as I have done, has really put a damper on my pocketbook and bucket list.

I'd like to combine my trip with a side trip to Wright Patterson AFB museum.

Sounds like my Dad used to be, but I'm the opposite. As long as it isn't cold enough to worry about plumbing freezing, it's not too cold. And if the sun's shining, 50 degrees is wonderful.

I didn't even know about the Oshkosh airplane get together or I might have tried to go a long time ago. But I'm not sure you want to just make a "side trip" to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson. We visited there on August 4, 1990, but had to go on the next day and that wasn't long enough. So we went back 3 years later and spent September 1 & 2, 1993, at the museum. And even that probably wasn't long enough.

I consider the Air Force Museum to be the best, followed by the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL. The Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, AZ, was pretty good, and I understand had gotten a lot better since we were there in January, 1990. And of course the tour of Davis-Monthan AFB that same month was very interesting.

What do you think of the Museum at Addison?
If they send a large aircraft to Oshcosh next year maybe F19 can get a few of you a hop or at least a "peanut fare"

As close as I live to Addison, I've still not been to that Museum. One of these days I'll remember it when I've got the time and when the weather is nice. I've been to the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field in Dallas once. It's small but pretty nice. We had a little "reunion" I guess you'd call it and lunch there one day for all the current and past members of the Dallas Police Helicopter Section.

A long time ago, the older of my two brothers was down here from Alaska for Christmas one year, and the younger brother who was buying and selling airplanes in Anchorage called to say there was a Cessna 152 for sale at the Addison Airport for the right price. He wanted us to go look at it and see if the brother who was here would be willing to fly it up to Anchorage, and if so, he'd buy it. So we did, and he did. I don't think it would have been a very enjoyable flight that time of year. But I guess that was the last time I stopped around the Addison Airport.

The panhandle goes all the way up to Canada, doesn't it?

Wow! It was hot today. For the last two days I've been mowing around my ponds, my trails, my neighbor's trails, and along both our ROW frontage. That's a half-mile of ROW and I did the ROW across the road from me up to the fence too (absentee owner). After that and a few areas in my trees, I was soaked through every thread of clothing including my socks. Ladies, I don't know how you can stand to work in a sweat soaked brassiere (yes, I know ladies don't sweat, they perspire :)). I'm not trying to get into a discussion of "those parts" of the female anatomy, but a sweat soaked t-shirt drives me nuts. I cannot imagine how miserable I'd be in lady's undergarments. Anyhow, it was so hot I had to stop in the garage laundry room and ring out my t-shirt. My tolerance of this hot weather is about 4 hours and then I have to come in and get a shower. Many summer days I take two showers and go through two sets of clothes. I guess in a world of inconsistency, we can be happy that August in Texas is consistently hot. Be careful out there everyone.
Yes Jim, the Panhandle goes all the way to Canada. But you got to remember the barb wire fence has two busted wires.

I change shirts 3 times a night, brassieres twice and socks, undies, and pants twice each night. I don't sweat or perspire. Either I glow;) way too much or the guys pour water on me. Take your pick.:D On a good night, 4 hours is just about right to finish working on the plane. So I agree with your 4 hour tolerance.

At home, I don't wear a brassiere working outside unless I am bumping along on the tractor or zero turn mower. I still take one or two rinse off baths on a hot day working outside at home.
hugs, Brandi
