You are not saving anything paying interest. HS.

HS,, Depends how one looks at it.. I could have paid cash for the house.. But I would have withdrawal from account with Fidelity that draws six pre cents,, that is a medium risk.. Around a 5 on a scale of 10,, that 6 pre cents makes that house payment.. Plus the 15 per cent in income taxes.. Because it is mostly dividends or long sells,, it has grown a little (5%) over the last three years.. But the main thing is I still have use of that money.. in case I need.. but the value of the house has always gone up,, in the last three years.. I believe that 6% will turn in to 8% in the next 5 years.. but that 2.75 will still be 2.75 on that same amount of money.. For the next 27 years.:). Lou

Brandi, Happy Pay-off Day to you! You too, Dennis! To help you celebrate, I took my grandson to the donut shop this morning. It's been probably 10 years since I had a donut, but I had two this morning: one for Dennis and one for Brandi. Now, I'll go back to the next ten years of abstention. Hey! The sacrifices I make for my friends.:D

We saw the first bluebonnets of the year in our neighborhood this morning. And the trees in the woods in a local park have some buds showing this morning. I guess Spring has sprung.

Thanks Jim. Have another donut on me. My day was interrupted by a neighbor wanting a 750 gallon septic tank installed. It is now in I and will go back and dig him a line befire the rain gets here at 7 or so.

I have thought about an engineered (Aggie) bridge built by me.............but it would just be another structure that would need to be "critter proofed". The jon boat is the easiest in the long run.

We now have the primary election, precinct conventions and County /SD conventions behind us! Now it's on to the runoffs in May! Hope everyone got a chance to participate in these essential functions of our system of self government.

Let's hope the political fervor lasts through the runoff so that the election results were meaningful. The job is truly not complete until the runoff is over.:)

Planted red potato spuds last week. Tilled the garden and actually sweated yesterday in the 80 degree plus weather. Then we planted a few strawberries, 'maters, and some onion bulbs next to the 1/2 grown onions. Oh, and I dug some holes and planted some asparagus crowns about a mower's width outside the garden.

We were expecting rain yesterday and today, but nothing so far.

Those of you growing asparagus: Do the deer not like it? I'd grow some, but where I would need to plant it, the deer would have a feast, unless it is something they normally do not enjoy.

My Dogwood Trees blossomed out last week. Don't ever burn dogwood in a barbeque pit. Don't ask me how I know.

Ditto here. Just mucked out the ducklings cage. Then I took a nap, while waiting on the rain. Which I am still waiting on.

Ron,
Since it's you, okay. First time we took my parents to my new MIL's house. Dad and I were charged with keeping the brick barbeque pit's fire going. We found cut to length firewood and fed the fire. Next thing we knew............we were being smoked out with the most putrid smell I ever smelled.

We got that wood out of the fire and quenched it just as my MIL came out of the house asking who put the Dogwood in the fire. We explained we just added the wood cut and stacked inside the barbeque shed to the fire.................."THAT'S DOGWOOD", was her reply:rolleyes::mur::yuck::duh::pullinghair::muttering::melodramatic:

Spring = pigs and snakes.
Whipper was too worn out throwing snakes around to chase the 33 pigs off.
Anybody missing their pigs?

Fg19, I think Whipper keeps the deer out of the asparagus because I only have a 4' fence around them.

That's what I thought, but if it stinks so bad why would she have it for firewood?
