My siding crew did not show today. I can't blame them. It's no day to be walking around with sails in your hands. It's just a good day to stay inside and hope the winds subside soon. I would not want to be driving or flying today. FG, stay safe and on the ground.

I have been considering Guineas, just for bug control. The drawback for me is I sleep days generally and they are LOUD

Turn those ducks loose after 4 weeks old and they will take the grasshoppers down. I found a lizard yesterday and threw it in to the ducks. It was a mad dash by 10 ducks trying to catch him.

I was coming out of HEB in Bastrop --- soaked to the skin loading groceries in the truck. Haven't looked at rain gauge yet - still raining here at home. Time for a 2o'clock nap ....Veggie soup and grilled cheese for supper...with the wife's peach and cranberry pie for dessert.
What, HEB in Bastrop doesn't have a drive thru cover? The new one in Austin does. I don't remember if the new one in Conroe does, as I still shop at the old one.
We got 1/4 inch of rain this afternoon and Norte Texas' wind.............and a temp drop to 47. This after sweating all weekend.
hugs, Brandi

Brandi, my bad, them little fellas went to Oklahoma Friday to their new home:thumbsup: I think the black one had a congenital leg problem, he could paddle better than he could walk.

That will help kick the hay in gear.

30.3* but only 3mph "breeze", fingers crossed if the weed barrier protected the corn and contender beans.

Yes, I stayed on the ground yesterday. Winds like yesterday's take the fun out of flying, even if one is capable of handling them! However, I did go to the airport yesterday evening. I'm still an airport bum! I am about sick of the wind though. At least they winds were subsiding a little when I was out trying to cover part of my garden last night. Guess I'll see how things fared once the sun gets up good. Thermometer shows 32* currently, and will probably drop a degree or two yet.

33* this morning, but the sun's starting to come up. It can't warm it up fast enough for me. Hope everyone dodged the bullet.

NWS showed Denton down to 29 this morning and we had frost on the grass (glad I mowed yesterday).
