Pray for rain without hail and high winds. God bless those in the Carolinas who had tornadoes today.

Any pictures of your metal siding job yet?
How is it rated for hail damage?

Jim,

Keep an eye towards the west. The storms are forming west of a San Angelo - Abilene - Wichita Falls line. If you are near one they could be intense. I am logged in to the NWS Chat Room. This from the NWS:

"THINKING THROUGH THE NEXT FEW HOURS IS THAT EVEN IF THUNDERSTORMS CAN DEVELOP...THEY WILL GENERALLY BE HIGHER BASED POSING A LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND THREAT THROUGH MIDNIGHT. THE TORNADO THREAT APPEARS GREATLY REDUCED AT THIS TIME...ALTHOUGH WILL MONITOR FOR SURFACE BASED DEVELOPMENT AS WIND FIELDS STRENGTHEN TONIGHT WHICH COULD HELP
TRANSPORT RICHER MOISTURE INTO THE STORMS.

AMPLE ELEVATED INSTABILITY EXISTS ACROSS THE REGION...SO ANY STORMS THAT DEVELOP TONIGHT SHOULD BE ELEVATED IN NATURE ABOVE A STRENGTHENING CAP. THESE STORMS WOULD POSE MAINLY A HAIL THREAT OVERNIGHT ACROSS NORTH TEXAS."

Well, it's a pretty picture, even if it is upside down. Of course, right after a daughter's wedding, I can understand a fellow being a bit discombobulated.

No rain here, doggoneit!! I finished more seasonal maintenance on the 1050 yesterday morning, then came and pushed the lawnmower around the lawn. after lunch, climbed on the 1050 and began knocking down the weeds, before they can get seed heads. The cool weather grasses are going to seed and turning brown, so today, I'll get into a horse pasture and begin shredding in there. I have to mow in funny patterns the first few times of the season, as I don't want to harm any of my wildflowers! Looks like I was drink when I mowed, but each year, I have a little bigger area and more flowers!

Had to take a short breather when mowing the lawn. A snake was having lunch. I call this one my pet. Been coming into the yard for several years. Will strike if messed with, but will let one get in close and observe. I think he is a black racer, but am not sure. I'm not planning to turn him over to have a look at the underside! Anyone else have a true ID? (See below.)

jinman; Eat whatever you want while you feel like you have an appetite. But as for the garlic, if you are on blood thinners/anti-coagulants of any sort, skip garlic, onions and leeks, as they will thin your blood too, and could lead to bleeding problems.

Nothing so far for us except strong winds. I ran over the yard with the mower yesterday in preparation for the rain (that didn't come). So now I've got the soaker hoses going around the foundation, at least. And the NWS is still showing a 30% chance before 1 p.m.

That long narrow line of "severe" thunderstorms passed through here, the city's Code Red phone system called while we were getting a really nice shower that dumped about .03" of rain in my gauge, then it quit raining and the sun came out.

almost noon -- getting a bit of drizzle ---waiting for it to make up it's mind -- rain or not? ....likely not. Finished erecting wife's greenhouse kit from Mueller yesterday -- using today as it is suppose to be used -- resting.

Dennis-- When we got home from church yesterday I started watering the garden as it was a little dry. Well then it started to drizzle so I stopped, then so did the drizzle. Not wanting to play that game I ignored the little rain we were getting and went ahead and finished giving everything a drink.

Then early yesterday evening a front move through and we got a pretty good watering. Then a little after midnight the real freight train front came in. Lots of thunder and lightning, wind & rain. A lot of the lightning was right on top of us. Really stirred the dogs up.....they were not happy campers. I'll check the rain gauge when the sun comes up.

I don't know how it was possible but the that red and yellow radar mass heading right toward us split and missed us. Most of Lee County did get a good shower, Ill have to water today. Kyle, did Giddings get soaked?
