.....so me and my wife put my four little daughters to bed and I've got about twenty minutes to myself before the Sun goes down and I want to accomplish moving the unattached BX24 backhoe from my temporary building to my barn. I go outside and take off the 3pt hitch, back up to the backhoe, connect it up, ride to the barn, disconnect the backhoe and I've got 5 minutes to spare. Previous to ordering BXpanded's backhoe dolly, I would have never attempted such a chore with only twenty minutes of worktime available. Thanks BXpanded, for making my life a lot easier.

So far, no issues at all with the spreader. I purchased it at TSC about 8 months ago. It's a metal hopper instead of poly, couldn't see spending the extra money since I rinse it off after every use. In my opinion, it is truly an xb. I have no issues at all with hooking it up to the 3ph, the lower links spread plently wide to mount. I use it for 6 acres of horse pasture and have used it for pasture seed, fertilizer and pellet lime. My only suggestion would be to remove the agitator if speading seed. It wasn't in the manual but it shreaded too many seeds. Once I took it out (2 minutes), the seeds dropped in the hopper fine without it.
.......Only thing I should mention (as an improvement I made to the BH dolley) is that I swapped out two of the stock non-rotating casters for rotating ones. Now I can move my BH around on the concrete floor with one hand! Not sure why BXpanded doesn't put four rotating casters on instead of two.

bx24d - Where did you buy the rotating casters? I have wanted to do the same thing but haven't found casters that match up perfectly to the ones already mounted. Thanks.

The rigid casters are used on one end for safety reasons.
Rotating casters all around make it almost impossible to control the dolly on anything but very flat surfaces. If used on a very slight slope the dolly can "get away" very easily. With one end rigid, it's easy to position sidehill and maintain control. Remember that's over 600 lbs!

Harry, thanks for speaking up on the safety concern. I'll try in out in my garage before I make any changes.
Dean - It's pretty close to being perfectly level. The area had an incline before I had the gravel delivered.
I took one of the rigid casters off after putting the dolly up on a few blocks of wood. Brought the caster down to my local TSC and lined up the holes with one of their rotating casters (which had an adequate weight capacity). Had to "tap" the existing bolts thru a little and add washers to the bolt side for clearance but worked like a charm. Portion of my barn is cement floor and perfectly level thank goodness. I'm totally happy with it considering who much my BH is on the dolly (alot!).

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't tried TSC yet but did try two of the big box stores about 8 months ago. I bought the closest one they had and tried "tapping" the bolts thru but just wouldn't fit. I'll give moving the dolly around on my garage floor a shot before I decide on changing the casters out. I may have to anyway since the dolly has been sitting outside in the elements under a motorcycle cover.
