We don't get as much snow as some of you, but here's my 2 bits worth. I started out with a FEL and rear blade on my BX. It worked great, but if the snow fall was heavier, or the drifts got bigger, I had my work cut out for me. I then got tired of doing most of my plowing backwards, so I took the bucket off, and rigged a blade on the front, complete with power angling. This was better, but the bigger snowfalls had me working harder/longer (I guess I get carried away at the neighbours too). Last season I bought a rear blower, so now I can windrow the snow, when it gets too deep, I hit it with the blower. Works great..........except now I get all this cold snow blowing back at me...........so I am anxiously awaiting my Curtis Cab. I also play around with aviation, not sure which hobby is more expensive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Like the others have said, you don't need a snow blower. The fel will handle it fine. But you might want a snow blower if time is important to you. It takes longer with the loader, sometimes a LOT longer, depending on the snow conditions.

I have both the blower and the blade. I switch back and forth between them based on the amount and type of snow. I have a 300' gravel drive that I plow until the ground freezes and I am not killing squirrels with flying rocks ....after that I usually use the blower.
I would dread the thought of using the fel here as I would run out of snow storage very quickly.

I guess time is important for me in the winter, I make a living keeping homes warm. I will look into adding a blower. I liked the cab made from the golf cart cover, trick. I know I couldn't add a hard cab this year. RI winters can be no snow if the winds come off the warm ocean. Other years we get slammed.
