Thanks anyway. Good luck with the tractor hunt.

See, you DO get REPLIES to YOUR questions! .... they just happen to be negative ones.

Actually, this is a good time to pose a question....since you've managed to p_$$ off more than just a few TBNers

....Now what was your question???? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hmmm free site with free advice........
All we want is a little courtesy and a chuckle from time to time.
If you think you didn't get responses before...........
There is a great group of people here, they take time out of thier busy schedules to answer questions and they enjoy that.
When people get critical and start demanding well.........
Those same good people have better things to do..........
Chill out, be nice and try a little brown-nosing instead of snapping back at everyone.
No-one is trying to hurt you.

Take it easy and good luck in your search.

You really need to lighten up a little. When I came here many people helped me out with my tractor questions. I didn't have any of the problems that you are having. Why? Because I did my research using the search engine here. No one likes to answer the same old question that was answered recently. Take it easy and people will answer your posts. If not, try re-phrasing them a little bit. Don't be so pushy. This is a friendly site if you keep the peace. Stomp on people and you will get ignored. I wish I could help you out with your questions. But I only have a little Cub 2750 with 27HP. The bigger machines are out of my league for now.

After reading your last post I may be wrong. You may just be on the wrong website if your that unhappy with us here.

First David, welcome to TBN! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seems like your initiation here has been.........um.........just a bit difficult. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif For that, I, and I am sure the vast majority of members are sorry. Nobody wants to become involved in a group/organization/club and feel unwelcome or hassled right from the start.

I'm sorry that you feel that your earlier posts were ignored. I don't believe that that was anybody's intention. There have been a number of comments that offered some possible explanations for the low number of responses, and all of the explanations are valid. Receiving few, or even no responses to a post is a fairly frequent experience to almost everybody here. Just go to any of the forum indexes and review the posts, and you will see many examples of posts with no or very few responses. I know I've had my share of them. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Is it frustrating to get no responses to a post you make? You bet! You feel ignored, and you start to think that everyone else is snubbing you and they think that your question/comment is unimportant. Please believe me, that is the furthest thing from the truth.

If you've done any reading of past threads, and based on your comments I have to believe that you have, then it should be very clear to you that overall, the people that frequent TBN do so for 2 main reasons. The first is for their love of tractors. The second, is for their love of helping out other people that have the same interests.

It's unfortunate that this post has taken a bit of wrong turn. I don't believe that it was anybody's intention for this thread to become a shouting match. To be honest, I was very tempted to just close it and end it. But I've decided to use it to help illustrate that with some reasonable restraint, everybody here can get along and work together to answer questions and have friendly, positive discussions.

So EVERYBODY.....please take some deep breaths and let's get back to talking tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Golffgar4,

Seldom do I find myself in complete agreement with anyone. This is one time I do. I believe you have summed up the majority of members and their selfless offers of advice and experiences shared here in hopes to help solve or assist in other members problems.

IMHO, starting a thread with "Thanks for nothing" is insulting, abrasive and contrary to everything TBN and it's members are respected for.

Regards, Mark

Welcome to TBN, David!

Golfgar4 has said it all pretty well. My suggestion would be to take a week and look thru the forum and read some of the threads that would be of interest to you. Besides good technical advice, you'll get a sense of how most go about asking questions and how most answer them. You'll see that humor often works its way into threads. You'll see that some have a religious fervor for their color (brand) or subject. I know I did when I first got here. Most will lose that over time (I did). I know of no one that cares about post count...... except maybe when it comes to Bird. You'll see that Bird is a wealth of great advice, always given without prejudice, always positive, and never a bad word said about anyone. Not mention VERY often. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Other than that post count is irrelevant.

So, sit back, read some. I think you'll get the sense that most of us here do not live up to your first impression of TBN.

After reading the entire thread, I say "YOU'RE WELCOME......FOR NOTHING"! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Taking the "Well....I'm here! Somebody pay attention to me"! attitude doesn't work here any better than it does at any OTHER place on this earth.

This is the first thread I've seen on here that got "personal". You asked, and you got your answer on this post. Sorry if you don't like it....

I started posting on here about a month ago. After a few post's met with a medeocre responce, I started to figure out the type of topics that would spark an interest. Then, I started to see how to WORD my questions to make them interesting to the general "population" on here. I'd suggest the same approach to you.

YEP! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif You're new here. Just like the first day at a new school, you need to start off by making a few friends.... NOT by walking in the door with an assault rifle.... JMHO. John

I quickly glanced through the replies and I don't see where anyone has mentioned this. You seemed very surprised that there was only 1 reply from 237 views. You should understand that there is very little correlation between the number of views and the number of replies. There are over 16,000 registered members of TBN. If you had more than 16,000 views and no replies, then your concern about being ignored might be valid. But, in 237 views, the most likely answer is that lots of people are interested in your post, but no one had an answer! You might get 1 reply out of 1 view if the person who knows the answer happens to be the first one to respond; but it's equally likely that you won't get a reply out of 2370 views (or whatever number), because the right person hasn't looked, yet. Then the coincidence might be that the next 50 people all respond!

Now, as far as lightening up is concerned, the only reason I read this topic was because I wondered who could possibly be P.O'd at TBN, and why. When I read your reasons, it was obvious you expected to much, put the wrong "spin" on views vs. replies, and are just possibly a teensy bit paranoid...
