Thanks to you guys for
your knowledge, expertise,
and willingness to share
both! I am a "newbe" to
tractors and tractor
ownership, and you have
helped me make a most
educated decision in the
selection of a new Kubota.
For four or five years my
wife has had to listen to
me express my dreams of
owning a new Kubota
tractor ("To help with all
the 'work' I have to do
around here"). About
three weeks ago we were
shopping across from a
Kubota dealer and she
suggested we stop and look
at what they had. (The
door was opened). She.
for some reason, became
receptive to my getting a
tractor. I couldn't wait
four or five more years to
convince her to pay for
it, so I knew I needed to
"strike while the iron was
hot". Upon seeing all the
different models,
confusion began to sit in.
Didn't want too small of
a tractor, didn't want too
large of a tractor and
needed to get about in the
woods without too much
difficulty. Needed
something to help me clean
about 11 acres, mostly
wooded, scrape driveway,
garden, etc.

In the beginning I thought
I wanted a back hoe
attachment. I considered
the BX2200 (dealer had one
in stock) and dec

Sorry, it appears my
initial msg was not
completly posted. In
short...Thanks to you guys
for sharing your knowledge
and expertise. This is
how you helped a "newbe"
to tractors: Pleaded with
wife for years to let me buy a tractor (Kubota). She finally said "Yes".
Couldn't wait more years
to convince her to pay for
it. Got real confused
while learning of all the
different models. Thought
I wanted a backhoe.
Considered a BX2200 (but
no hoe available). About
to make a deal for B7500
with hoe and loader.
Found this site and forum
and started getting
educated. Based upon your
discussions and Carver's
tips regarding hoes,
decided my limited use was
not worth the risk.
Decided on the B2710 with
loader based upon your
favorable comments and rec
that one is better off
buying larger size
tractor. Based upon what
I read about what other
dealers were asking, think
I got a real good deal on
my tractor when my dealer
offered me a B2910 HSD for
$600 more than the 2710
(got the 2910, LA402
loader and Woods GB60
boxscrape for 17,000).
Tractor delivered two
weeks ago. Let my wife
drive it and she grinned
more than I. Thanks for
your help.

You will never regret buying the 2910 with HST. It is a very capable tractor and will last nearly forever.

Ches - Congratulations on the recent addition to your family - an excellent choice! Now, the only thing you need to visit TractorByNet for is to tell us how much you like it, what you're doing with it, and be reminded of how to operate it safely, all very important considerations...

Hey Ches, welcome to the owners club. The fun is just starting. I will bet, that like most of us, in a month or two you will be asking how you got along without your tractor. You will also find all kinds of uses you never thought of when you were shopping. Now your problem will be getting your wife off the tractor so you can do all you want to do./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ches,
Good luck with the new purchase. I got my new 2710 last month and my wife asks me why I am still walking around with that smile on my face. Just remember SAFETY FIRST when you are doing anything with the tractor.
Good luck
Dale
