I sent out quite a few bid request in the mid-west and only had two replys back (one only after I told them I knew about shipping charges) I bought from the folks at lawn and leisure in lees summit missouri.they where quick with my emails and had shipping quotes on the first bid.
Theres actually four JD stores here but they are owned by the same company they deal with yellow iron mostly. I even asked if the would get to within 5000.00 of my state side bid and they said NO....Hey I tried. Looks like I might be doing all my own maintance/warranty work /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.
Weathers been great this year we finally got some snow after not having any for the last three years, I don't even think we got anything below +30 last winter, kind of strange.
I did get a break on the taxes being from Alaska I didn't have to pay any I've never had to pay on any other outside purchase just showed them my driver licence and was exempt . Alaska dosn't have sales or income taxs. Some towns have 1-3% tax only on goods though.
I did change my order a little. I canceled the TNT, dealer called back and said there was another charge of $975.00 on top of $650.00 for it . I think I can live without it I might just go for the post hole digger instead .
P.S. Theres always an open invatation if you make it to Alaska.
