Steve It is not the thatch removal some much as the raking action over the lawn surface that I like. Using the agrifab dethatcher is like raking the lawn with a metal hand rake. The dethatcher not only removes old dead grass but anything else on the lawn. I do aerate. I dont have a big thatch problem. I just want to find an easy way to rake a three acre lawn that does not involve blisters on my hands and does involve a B2910 under my butt /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

How about a leaf blower? Much faster than "power" raking. I have a little wonder walk behind. Haven't been succesful in finding an affordable PTO powered one....

My buddy has a small Landscaping business,he also an old 3-point p.t.o. tiller that he converted into a Power Slicer.He removed all the tines from the tiller "shaft",or hub,and had new brackets welded on the shaft,the brackets were welded in a spiral configuration so the spacings are about 2"-3" apart.On the end of the new brackets he has attached cycle mower sections,you know, the kind that are kinda V shaped and have a serrated cutting edge.

This thing will slice through any turf and bring all the crap up on top,it really works wonders...I also have plans on having one of these made also /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I seen one of these rakes in action. Did a pretty good job of depthaching. Thinking I might buy one myself some day when I have a few extra bucks.
