there are tack room saddles and then there's my Billy Cook. Call me crazy, but I love the look of a saddle in a house - kind of adds to a western theme which we're working on. Don't get me wrong, I do use that saddle (see proof below), but I keep it clean enough not to stink up the house.
The saddle stand plan started out more modest than that (like your dam)
but kind of grew as I got into it (like your dam).
By the time it was over it passed my wife's criteria for "house worthy." I sit on it
almost like a joke, as if it replaces my "man chair."
Seriously though, around here it's not that uncommon to see saddles in a person's house. When you pay $1k - $2K for a saddle, you don't want to leave it out in the swealtering heat or freezing cold. Billy Cook makes an awesome saddle and I'm
insane particular about my stuff. That's why I paint all my implements to match my tractor, and still really want to paint my tractor even though most people here told me I was crazy to even think about that with such good OEM paint. I cut remnant carpet to put in the floor board of my truck to protect the truck carpet. It's a family thing man, we're all nuts. My papaw is notorious for trading in a 10 year old "farm truck" that he never took the factory plastic off of the seats! A little insight into my world, incidentally you may want to say a prayer for my wife.
