The Day of the Jackal

Those are definitely not .22 LR. They even look too long to be a .22 Magnum (but that is probably what they are), which is also a rimfire, but the similarities to the LR end there :)

From some web site:

"The .22 Magnum is a much more powerful cartridge than the .22 LR. At 100 yards its 40 grain bullet is still carrying 156 ft. lbs. of energy, more than the .22 LR develops at the muzzle (compared in 22" barrels). The flat shooting WMR can be zeroed to hit +0.6" at 100 yards when fired from a scoped rifle, and will give a point-blank range (+/- 1.5") of about 124 yards."

Don't know what round this is? Probably a 223 but bet she might get you.

She needs to work on her camoflauge a little!

It can't be a .223 because the .223 has a wider shell than the slug. A .223 is a d-a-m-n powerful round. My AR-15 fires them.

This is almost certainly a .22 magnum, which I'd prefer to not get hit with nonetheless :)

I've killed many a woodchuck with my .222 Sako at 250 yards and more. .22 centerfire rounds can have a lot of knock down power even at long ranges.

My vote's for .22 magnum.

could be a .17 cal.

Looks like a hand loaded WMR .22 magnum with custom mercury filled projectiles that will kill just about anything at any range:)

Rented the movie per this post, never read the book, few observations.

Guy actually walked the shooting zone to determine range, impressive.

Did not shoot the correct angle for practice, not so impressive.

Guy actually hits mellon at undetermine range FIRST time out with scope mounted on the "rifle". Heck at that distance, first time out with a new scope, if I hit in the "general area" I'm lucky!

Actually supported the gun against the tree with aid (rope) very impressive.

Subsonic ammo, over 100 yards, very impressive if he makes the shot.

Barrel has to be around 12" or so, with sub sonic ammo? again very impressive.

Guy sleeps with other man picked up from turkish bath house to hide from authorities, then kills man after he brings home a lobster? That's just plain sick. Why not kill him before you have to sleep with him?

Not a bad movie, liked it better than the "new" one with Bruce Willis.
