The day the music died.

Resurrection! The music is still alive! The sweet wife bought me a turntable for Christmas and I can listen to my old favorites again.

I still have all of my old LPs. Stored in a couple wooden Orange crates plus a few stragglers. Maybe 250 of them with a few inherited. But, I don't have a turntable anymore. I have a great A/V system but just haven't pulled the trigger and to go back to analog.

Who still has their collection... and when was the last time you spun some vinyl? The high end A/V store in town is now collecting and selling classic albums. I'm afraid if I do invest in a turntable I will restart a bad habit. :D

I still have my Sony turntable from back when and as far as I know it works. I have the old JBL L100 speakers too..... those were the days :D

Bad Habit? What, enjoying music? The first album grabbed turned out to be Tommy James and the Shondells 2 album set with 26 Great Hits for $6.98. Sounded absolutely fine.

As an added bonus, this cheap little phonograph is Bluetooth and also allows me to record my albums to usb or several other forms of modern media. Heck, I may drag the 4 & 8 Tracks out of the attic and maybe all the cassette tapes too. Not afraid I'll spend more money because all this "old" stuff will keep me occupied for years to come.

Hahaha. I'm no Audiophile, but I really enjoy the trip back in time. Life was so simple then. Just wish I still had my old Teac reel to reel with the thousands and thousands of tunes.

Wow... Teac reel to reel. Thanks for stirring up memories! So jealous of my best friends brother on that one. My cassettes of Led Zeppelin, Rush, EWF are gone. I never did subscribe to the 8 track think. First thing I did was tear out the 8 track player in the Camaro I bought and floor mounted a Pioneer cassette. BTW... anyone build Speakerlab kit speakers in the 70s???

I had a Teac A-4010 and an A-6010 reel to reel. Probably a bajillion recorded songs on tape. Good memories!

Doffy if you're a Tommy James fan check him out on u-tube at the "Bitter End" . Done live in the mid 90's I believe. Very good.
