nope she ain't runnin i just got her all pressure washed up and i'm gonna pull her into the shed to take her down i think it's the starter being all i get it a tick sound from it.everything else electrical looks good.but you know how looks go on eletrical stuff.i'm gonna yank the bed and clutch enclusure and take the starter down. maybe skip will be nice enough to post that link to the 100.00 dollar ebay starter again.lol i think one will be in order unless i can take this one down and rebuild it.oh .i found out why it died out for sure.there was a chunk or mud that lodged itself in the pickup coil on the flywheel. the only reason it was able to ge in there was i had to cut a notch out for the belt for the alternator. sois it wasn't for the mud i think it might have sputtered but it might not have died on me being i have been through water about 2"up the gas tank already and this was only about 5"deeper .lol

Tommy, being you live down here also, you will understand what I'm talking about.

These sloughs and bayou's, are really getting full. Swamps are really deep now with mud and water. Been huntin' just about everyday, and everyday it get's more rotton .... I been running threw some deep water sloughs myself, and the mud, is just unbelievable.... So glad now I've got the 27" 589's ....
But I have found out for myself, that I don't hardly EVER have to use the front end pulling with them tires, I surprise myself evertime I hit the woods.
Tonight, coming out, had three big deer, hunting equipment, wife, and myself in the RTV. Fair load, and that machine just crawls threw it like a mud bug . I am very pleased with this machine. Yes, it's a little heavy, but I'm telling you, until someone installs these tires, they will never know what these things will let you go threw. No, my RTV is not fast, but I don't drive fast anyway. But it will pull it's butt off ... Being things to do tomorrow, and have a New Years party to attend tomorrow night. Got to get up in the morning early and clean this craw-daddy up, for the only orange you can see, is some of the hood and the top of the cab, other than that, it black with all that gumbo mud !!!!!

Why not just keep the 27's you got now and put the 489s back on? Or do you just have 3 489s?

Does the XUV have the same rubbing issues as the HPX with the 27" tires? I would have thought the XUV had move room for the tires I thought it was designed for the more demanding off road chores and thrills.

as for as i know if you put 27"tires on any utv they will rub.26"is the tallest tire you can go without a rubbing problem. found the starter for 94.00 on ebay so all i gotta do is take mine off and go through it and see if it's the starter or the selinoid. the starter might just need to be cleaned out but 3 years of mud ridin might have tain it's tole on it.

Tommy,
Weather it's a new one or a old one, is there anyway you can seal this starter off with Perma-tex, 100% clear silicone ?

yea i was thinkin the same thing about sealing it off. i took it off today and let me tell you with a clutch enclosure it's a pain if i wouldn't have had it it would have went easy but man that top bolt on the starter was ^%$^ .lol i took it down and it was packed to the rim with mud. i don'w see how it worked this long.it was only workin with one brush the springs on the other two rusted completly away and one other one was stuck with mud.after i cleaned it the brush poped out like it should have been.so what i did was clean it up and make me two springs they should last for a little while.then lubed it up and put it back together. i hooked it to a battery and it spun so thas a good sign right?
