The demise of the rear wheel drive/Police intercep

"ample leg room front "...uhhh, I don't think so. I am 6'5" and a Crown vic is terrible as far as leg room is concerned. I try to rent Intrepids when on business trips because they have room up front where it counts. Marty

I have to agree. Legroom in Ford products is terrible compared to GM if you're tall. I'm a little over 6'-8 and find Fords vary between uncomfortable through unbearable to absolutely undriveable. The reason I've noted is that the dash on many Fords extends down below the center of the steering column where my shins need to be. Most GM's end their dash at that midpoint.

I guess if I was as tall as you guys I would not like them either if I was,I am not that tall.Like I say they work for me and thats all I care.

Exactly the reason I stick with the GM products if I ever need a car. I usually drive a Tahoe or Suburban.

I like the size of a Suburban...but I have seen so many of them with the bodys rusting to pieces...thats kind of unsual today as well. Most vehicles do not rust out like they did 25 years ago,my sister had an 86 model Surburban and the rust was just falling off of it..And I have seen several Suburbans this way.I have a 93 Chevrolet 1500 series and the body is excellent on it.Go figure....

I might add I have an 86 Olds Cutlass that I drive to work and the body has a little rust but no where near the amount as the Suburbans I have seen.

Ron,
It is no wonder they have 80% of the market in police cars and are the only leading manufacture that still sells a rear wheel drive car.

Hillbilly,

I worked for a Ford dealership and a Chevrolet dealership over twenty years ago. Since then I've worked as an independent, non-franchised dealer. Today I deal almost exclusively in trucks.
