The Evolution of "SPIDER TRACTOR"

Guess it's not really a "fab shop"...it's a manufacturing company. We have our own product lines, (rather than making things to order for outside individuals/companies) and our product lines have absolutely nothing to do with tractors. :p

I was just kidding Phillip. I'm envious of you guys with all the skills and equipment. (I say as I look at my latest parrot poo excuse for a weld).

Nice tractor. 5000 series is what I wanted but obviously too expensive. The used I viewed was " too used " !

Good luck with the front axle repair.. sounds expensive.

I did a bunch of looking around for a set of tires (at a decent price) that would have deeper tread and better flotation than my current set. Eventually I got pretty lucky on a set of 18.4-26 R2 (rice and cane) tires and wheels that had come off the back of a JD combine. I drove about an hour, plunked down $600, and drove home with a set of basically new tires...no measurable tread wear at all!

Do these tires match the required ratio for the 4 wheel drive?

They do now! Yesterday afternoon, good ol' Spider Tractor was looking a bit hungry. A couple hours later I found that he had eaten a neighbor's Kubota...and kept it's rear tires as trophies.

Haha, what was a Kubota rear tire/wheel is now my front tire/wheel. Must have been a cute little tractor. ;)
Now I just need to add some loops to the rims and paint them a proper color. :D

Fronts are now 12.4-24 Goodyear Dyna Torque II R1s on 10" wide rims.
Big step up from the old 9.3-24 Treadura tires that the tractor came with!

Good thread... just read it all. Really like your tractor and what you've done to it. Wide wheel track would be nice for our farm too. We have 117 acres and the only flat spots have the house, barn, pool, or roads on them. And I had to make the flat for the pool!

Would like to see more detail pix of the wider fenders... got me thinkin about doin that to mine.
