I ordered 54 rolls of the Sill Seal, found it on sale at Ace Hardware outlet- $4.79 a roll & free shipping. Here is the link:

I also paid for my floor trusses today. (28) 22 standard 24" 2x4 trusses 28'11 1/2" long, and 6 of the same except reinforced at one end for the fireplace hearth. They are all going on 16" centers. Total was $2,633.88 & they should be delivered in a week.

I decided against the Assy 10" log screws at about a buck each(plus shipping) and ordered 1,250 10" Oly Log screws for just under $700 delivered. The Assy's are a better product, but I just can't justify the cost. Oly's are an industry standard and they do work fine.

That sounds like a good price. I could get some now. Is it sealed real well? Do you think it would dry out if it sat for a year?

I'm just using rebar to keep my logs together. Drill a hole and sledge hammer it in. Or I'll probably get a pneumatic hammer.

It's a roll of polyethelene(like the stuff to wrap things in for shipping), not the gooey stuff in a can.

What are you using for roofing material? Are your logs on site? It will be a great feeling when its under roof.

Tin for the roof. However, the requesition for that and the window and door color has been forwarded to the War Dept...she has not made up her mind yet:laughing:

OK, a truck load of Hemlock arrived yesterday, and holeey crap they are big. 25' long and 5-6 of them were 24"+ on the big end. It looks like I am going to have my hands full milling them on my little manual LT15. Rafters will be cut to 5"x10".

I just ordered the biggest Cant Hook that LogRite makes...the 78" MegaHook to help in turning these logs:LogRite Mega Hook 78"
I have their 60" and I have to say it is the best Peavy Hook I have ever used..excellent product that really does not ever slip off the log.

You need another cup of coffee....the cedar is still waiting outside of Nashville for the 18wheeler. The Hemlock I just got are for the RAFTERS which I am going to mill myself. Comprende Senoire?
