Gotta be careful with selective logging too! That kind of logging sometimes leaves all the undesirable trees still standing. Less work for the loggers, and you, but the future productivity of the forest is severly impacted as all the small desireable trees can now not get enough light or nutrients - you end up with big 'trash' trees.
