Well, she's coming along! She got her first coat of paint tonight. Much better than she looked before. I'll be working on the jerky hydraulics issue (prob. the hydraulic filter), installing new LED headlights and rear work lights and finishing painting the body this week and next. Then, ready for heavy work! IMG_20190220_225237.jpegIMG_20190220_225255.jpegIMG_20190220_225303.jpegIMG_20190220_225309.jpeg

I was trimming pastures today on my trusty MF 245 and I hear a whop, whop, whop. I pull off the hearing protection,,, left side,,,, front wheel,,, stop and get off. Only 1 lugnut left on. I had that wheel repaired (flat) 2 years back and must not have eaten my Wheaties when I wrenched the lugnuts back on. 1 is stripped, but there were 5.

Glad you caught it before it was too late, shouldn’t be too bad to replace that stripped stud.

I have no current pics of mine, last time I used it was out last storm of winter to clear the driveway, then the calcium that’s been in the wheels since ‘64 finally did one of my wheels in. Rotted out and I haven’t had time to work on it.

I’ll post pics when I do.

The 245 I posted (I have 2) had rotted out rims and Calcium in the tires. What you see are new rims and the tires are now not filled. The tractor is purely a pasture mower and it has a fairly easy life,,, so no need for fluid.

Nice. I’m going to attempt to replace the wheel loop myself. We’ll see how that goes. My machine is used for flail mowing, rotary cutting, dirt moving, snow removal, pulling engines, etc. I’ll probably load the rears with RimGuard. I can really use the weight for snow moving and loader work.

Sounds like your Massey is putting in some good labor. Yes, load those wheels
My 245 has 5700 hours and deserves light duty
Not that that is a lot for a Perkins ! Just getting broken in ...:D

Nice machines, all!

I finally got around (5 months later!!) to removing the rear wheel/tire to get it swapped over to the new wheel.

Didn’t feel like removing the cap, and the trailer makes loading/unloading easier with the ramp.

Here's a couple more.

First one is near Mosul Iraq. Can't verify the model but appears to be a Massey.

This one was near Tikrit Iraq. Not enough sheet metal left to confirm Massey, but I suspect so.

Iraqi tractor.JPG

This doesn't have a tractor in the pic. But it's amusing. Remote farmer's buildings West of Mosul Iraq. No door on the house. But he's got a satellite dish!!!!
