( Do they still make an AGCO-Allis
No. The way I see it is that they are holding on to Allis through the AGCO brand tractor. (Allis Gleaner Co.) It has been propped up by other money ever since they started with that brand. Put the money where is will do the most good, not into starting another brand. One of the 21 or so brands under the AGCO umbrella has supplied the vast majority of the money to allow them to purchase nearly all of the other brands. )
Jerry,
I have been following the story of Allis Chalmers, Duetz Allis, and now Agco for quite a few years. I have read numerous books on them, talked with employees, dealers, and even tried to decifer there corporate financial report(with not much luck). I find it very difficult if not totally impossible to determine which Agco brand makes the most money, has the biggest margins, has the biggest capital liabilities/assests, is the most risky, etc...At Agco Corp. Headquaters I am 100% certain they have all of this type of information. It is not the type of factual financial information the is released to the general public.
I can't see how you have reached the conclusions that you have stated.
When you say that it has been "propped up by other money", where have you seen that info? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
