I'm curious about what is driving your need for *very* high accuracy. It is my understanding that tire pressure can vary significantly with weather and travel time. Isn't it good enough to have something that is accurate within a couple of PSI?
After buying, using and throwing away four different "Chinese" gauges... supposedly of decent quality... I'm giving up on the local Sears and auto parts stores and looking for something a bit more professional. The fact is that I've had a hard time keeping the pressure of my 80 PSIG tires uniform and up where it should be. After my infamous highway blowout incident, and more recently a marked difference in readings from a supposedly calibrated gauge, no price is too high to pay for a little peace of mind.

I have to agree on this one. At 80# a gauge that is 4#s off is within 5%. Considering pressures can differ due to heat over 10% on a trip that 5% really isn't a big deal. I would more concerned about accuracy at lower pressures. But really, are ya going for lap times?:D I have had a accugage rolling around the jeep for years (there is a rusty waterline over half the face) that is still plenty dang accurate for anything I need it for.
I care about accuracy at exactly 80 PSIG! ;) I don't care what it reads at 10 PSIG. And it is all about uniformity side-to-side and axle-to-axle. I was a little shocked at what my mechanic found with his allegedly calibrated gauge. Bottom line: I want it dead on and I don't want to have to wonder or speculate about it any longer.

I can be funny that way. :)

Like JESSE1, I always found that Milton to be good enough. If it's off a tiny bit, that's not a big deal to me, if it's consistent. In other words, if all the tires are the same pressure, I figure it's OK.
Absolutely correct... and, hence, the importance of the repeatability and drift aspects... even over absolute accuracy itself.

Interesting GIJOE... but a little off the wall for truck & trailer use at 80 PSIG... wouldn't you say? :D

:D You said you didn't care about the price!! :p
