"" I use both feet to slowly ascend and descend the stairs of my front porch. That would be impossible using your right foot method!! Just right foot might work OK going up, but backing down the stairs I must use the reverse pedal to move across the treads, and then quickly use the forward pedal to slowly and smoothly descend the risers!
( )

I have to see a picture of that!! ""

Patience!! That photo in currently in my camera! It should be out next week!

PS: The porch is only 4 steps high, but by driving the front wheels up there and then using my 5' man lift, I could fix my flag pole with my PT-425 rather than using a shaky ladder. You know me - I'm all about safety!!

I put two blocks of wood in the floor of my pt for my heels to rest on to take the strain off my ankles. I try to use both feet on the pedals at the same time. I like to do it that way just in case I get in a bind and need to reverse quickly hopfuly there won't be a panic and push the pedal the wrong way and cause me to maybe turn it over. By not using the pedals the same way all the time it could create a potential for an acident.

NJBILL,

Thanks again for the pics. You will enjoy your machine. In this new arrangement, where did they locate the battery? Our older versions have the battery nestled in so that you have to remove the muffler to remove the battery /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

When I first got my PT425 I had problems with my ankes getting very tired working the treddle. I thought about adding the blocks but got very busy and soon after my ankles got used to the motion and now I do not even think about it. Hope this will happen with you as I know how uncomfortable it is at first.

The Grapple Bucket is my "man lift"!! I position the bottom of the bucket and the 3 fangs horizontally. Standing on the bucket bottom is quite secure. The mid-fang brace and fangs surround me on 3 sides at hip level acting as guard rails. I can even partially sit on the mid-fang brace.

I move the PT-425 into position, load tools into 1 end of the bucket, adjust the bucket and fangs, set the parking brake, kill the engine, and ascend and descend using a step stool, short ladder, or climbing up the lift arms. Much safer than a shaky ladder on uneven or soft ground!!

NJBILL,

Is that a filtered cap on the hydraulic reservoir tank. Hey, I think PT is reading this forum, or listening to Sedgewood. That is a good change also. I wonder if the caps can be replaced on our prior revision machines with out having to modify the connection to the tank.

Brian,

/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif That is a list of places I have lived, and my age when I lived there. I lived in Lima, for example, from age 13 to 33 at 1789 Rochester Street. My family had a cottage on Honeoye Lake from before I was born until age 30.

I am hoping to go back to Lima for my 45th Lima High School class of 1959 reunion in May. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Naturally I don't know if battery position has changed, but here's a couple of shots to help. This one looking across from the left side. The hold down bracket is visible.
