Oil & Fuel the price of diesel

Filled up on the way home tonight. Prices are dropping in Green Bay.

Diesel is at $1.56.

The special blend of "boutique" gas we are required to buy in areas along Lake Michigan are $1.56 for regular and $1.72 for premium.

You guys don't know how lucky you are. The prices of unleaded and diesel are about C$0.70 per litre here, or about US$2 a US gallon. That's down from about C$0.85 a litre a couple of weeks ago. And Canada is a net exporter of oil! But we are real good at selling cheap and buying high. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What is everyone paying for offroad diesel?

Here in Kalifonia, local to the Sacrmento area, I see Unleaded still at over $2/gal, around the $2.07-2.17 rnage. Diesel local to my house is $1.89/gal.

We were out of town last week. Diesel out on the interstate(I-5) was running $1.50-1.60

I have found the diesel price to be much more stable than gas prices, although until this recent price gouging diesel did tend to be more expensive than regular. It tended towards the price of mid-grade. Some othe stations only a few miles away would have it more expensive than premium.

Seems diesel should be easier to make and cheaper than gas, especially here in California where they have to add oxidizers to help with pollution control.

after reading all the post on this subject i can't figure out why the big difference in gas prices. here in western ny. reg gas is still about $1.73 not sure what diesel is right now, have not had to get any as not enough snow to plow and way too wet to do anything else /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Diesel = heating fuel.

Diesel always spikes up in February, esp in a cold late winter, as supplies tighten up. We want heating fuel, barges to run, a few more trains are in motion, spring construction ramps up, farmers lay in a supply of fuel - all use a bit more diesel fuel.

Once the heating season goes away, diesel prices calm down again. Gas was ~$1.65 the past 3 week, diesel ~1.75. This week they dropped to $1.48 & $1.47. Southern MN.

Here in central Mass. Regular unleaded $1.569 to 1.799. Diesel $1.859 to $1.999. Diesel was all just under $2 a couple of weeks ago.

Today (Thursday) I saw regular unleaded as low as $1.499 and diesel as low as $1.359 today. Of course, I still have over 3/4 of a tank full of $1.719 gasoline to burn before I need to fill up.

Around here, Thursday is usually the lowest price day to buy gas. It usually goes up Friday morning. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Gary, today I saw the regular unleaded at $1.489 and the diesel at $1.599; on road stuff at a local service station of course.
