Ah ha Here all stations advertise all three grades plus highway diesel. Our regular reached 2.95 but its now down to 2.45 Its like following a yo-yo

That entire octane requirement scenario is odd. With todays technology there should be a feature where you can change the fuel mapping thru the digital dash display.

Modern cars (and I think even BMW motorcycles) have knock sensors and will reduce timing advance and/or richen the fuel mixture to adapt to lower octane fuel. So while 89 octane may be required to get the stated performance, it'll run safely on 87 at slightly reduced performance. The ECU has a memory so if you swtich back to 89 it wont' immediately give full power back.

Yeah, we need pics bad. I didn't feel this much suspense when I bought my own truck! I half suspected you made a mistake and ordered one of the new 2020 models that aren't going to be at dealers until late 2019.
