What I need quick advice on is, what is a good trail cam that can be used in a place with basically zero cell service and no electricity? Specific brands and models and if you are using, or know someone who is using under similar conditions.

Sorry to hear about your issue... Scumbags Suck!!! There has been some good information in some of the posts... but...

IMHO... You are dealing with a very tough situation. Not sure what a good trail cam is going to do for you after the fact, as a trail cam will only give you the information after the fact, which as someone that works in the security / automation field isn't much good... If you truly have basically zero cell service & no electricity on site your options are very limited in prevention. If you can get cellular signal via a external long range omni-directional antenna then you can be a little more proactive, but even then if you don't have local support (law enforcement / willing neighbors) then even that may not be enough.

If you think a long range cell antenna might work then I might look into Vosker Security Cameras, they have features more based on security over traditional trail cams. They are not inexpensive, but we have them deployed for multiple clients with remote properties & although not perfect they offer enough value to our clients to keep in our portfolio of products.

To original poster. I have 3 Reveal Tactacam camers. The Pro model is easiest on batteries. I mount them about 10 feet up in a tree and they are less noticable that way. They send a text picture within 2 or 3 minutes max from time pic was taken, sometimes within 30 seconds.

It's come down to a pass on property crime with the standard response is go online to file a report for insurance...
Things are a bit different in some parts of Colorado
Tonight on the news apparently kid(s) wanting to take homecoming? pictures pulled over next to a protective owner of his property and shot the kid in the face, The land owner was arrested and sits in jail. Is it already home coming? That was what the kid said, he wanted to take homecoming pictures.

Probably quite a bit More to this story, but the kid was 'in the car' parked on the side of a public road when the land owner shot him.

Totally different than someone destroying property on the property and in the process of theft.

here

Apparently they had been on the property trying to find him so that they could ask permission. When they couldn't find him they returned to their car. He had seen them on camera and went after them.

Update and it is not good:

Wife and I went through the shipping containers to straighten things back up and get a complete inventory of what was taken for the sheriff dept. Took two days to do that. I also decided to take my cargo trailer with hole in the side home and also took my gooseneck and figured it would really be bad to have my tractor or excavator stolen and they use my trailer to take them. At least they will have to supply their own transport. Yesterday, guy who lives across the street came over and told me he heard from "people" who took the stuff and that the thiefs brother who drives a very recognizable car came back to get the stuff that was stashed in the woods.
Called the sheriff and told him as I was pulling the gooseneck out. Tried calling him when hooking up, but of course no signal.

Today I couldn't get out there until this afternoon. As soon as I drove up I saw I had been hit again. Drove back to the road for a signal and called the sheriff again and we drove back up to my site. This time they pulled the top link off my JD and tried smashing the locks on one the containers but since I put all new heavier grade 8 & 10 key locks on, they held. Go over to check my LS 573 cab and see the door is open, the floor mat is pulled up by the door and there is a muddy shoe print on my seat. I look up and they broke open the sunroof and dropped down in that way. Showed some other things that were amiss to the deputy. We saw two separate sets of foot prints today, while Monday there was only one. Both times they walked in and out. I'm waiting for them to tie a chain around my gate and pull it down. I looked at the Tactica cameras and saw they have a model with the SD card that will save photos on it if the cell doesn't go through. After today the deputy said go get some kind of camera at least to hold over until ordering good ones. I told my wife go to Tractor Supply, they should sell something. She called the two close stores and both said they don't sell them which surprised me.

I was pulling out to go home and bring my gooseneck back to move my tractor out. I stopped at the old lady who lives next door to talk to her since the deputy told me she got hit on Sunday also. Right when I go to leave her house, my truck won't start. 2020 Ram dually with 60,000. When I had called the sheriff earlier the phone would not disconnect from the truck. It just kept going and going. Push the button to start and just a heard click like the starter was hanging up. Took a hammer and banged it a few times and still no good. Check the two batteries and the right side one was really hot. I thought I would disconnect them and maybe the computer would re-set it self. No luck. So I tried to disconnect the battery that was hot and tried to start the truck with the other battery. All the lights came on and i thought , nice, I'm going to be good. Push the button, and hear a "pop" and the dash goes blank, then comes back on and goes beserk flashing all kinds of different screens. By this time it's dark and my truck is completely blocking the old lady's driveway. I called a wrecker to tow me home.

The sheriff knows who stole the stuff. The guy was just released from prison after doing time for the same thing. He cut off his ankle monitor and they are trying to track him down. Tonight while waiting for the wrecker, two different sheriff were up and down the road four times.

The Thieving Bas***** may be new your neighbors.
No, just a jail bird from across the town who sees this street as an opportunity because it is pretty sparsely populated.

Without being too specific, could you identify the location of the lawless land you are looking to relocate to (State? County? Township?)
NC/VA border area

I live on my property. No damn security cameras. "Guests" that I do not instantly recognize are met by me and my 12 gauge.

It did not take long, at all, for word to spread - this is how the "old fart" will be handling uninvited guests.

You come to do me harm - better bring your own grave stone.

It was only the very first year that we had any "bad folks" come to visit.

Forty two years and not a single problem.
Once my house is built and I am there, I will sit on the porch with my shotgun. ;)

Cordless angle grinder could have cut the lock on the cargo trailer without damaging the trailer, but it looks like those thieves used something like a crowbar. Their aim wasn't too good, either, because they punctured the trailer sidewall besides the entry door.
Yup, all that damage and the trailer was empty except a couple crowbars.
