Proving it is very easy to say things to, and about, people on the internet one would never consider saying to them in person. Personally, I have a wood pile that needs attending. :D

Me too, but garage addition comes first this year. And moving my kid out of college over the next month.

As for my kids, Purdue has held tuition for about 10 years. They told us to figure $88K average for 4 years, in state, living on campus. However, by choosing lower cost housing and meal plans, we got it down to about $75K per kid. We put $20 a month into 529 plans every week for each kid starting when they were born. That came up to about $18-20K by the time they were 18. They got merit scholarships. 1 worked in high school. Both worked during college and summers between years. Both got out of 4 year debt free. One has about $30K left in her savings account from her jobs and $5K left in her 529. The other spent it all on education. Oldest took $32K in loans to go to grad school. And $8K for a car loan. Has paid off $20K of student loans and $3K of car loan in 3 years. So has about $17K in debt at 27 years old. But has that much in savings and 401K, so she's effectively neutral this year, and by next she'll be in positive net worth. ;)

Correction, that was $20 per pay period per kid in the 529's, not per month. So 26 pay periods = $520 per year, per kid invested in whatever fund that was that was aggressive when they were young and moved towards more secured as they got towards college age yielded about $18-20K per kid at age 18.

Maybe people now starting back to work be helpful.

Missouri came out of lockdown Monday
Restaurants open to 50% capacity.

Our County stalled at .02% infected. No hospitalizations.

My wife is working from home and dinner is usually ready soon after I get home. Had she been working her normal hours, I'd be getting home first and making dinner for her. One of our kids has been with us for 6 weeks and we haven't come to fisticuffs yet! And her cat and our 2 cats all have bonded and get along quite well. Thinks could always be worse.

For some folks it will be helpful but unfortunately for some others it will be deadly ... it's a DILEMMA, damned if you do and damned if you don't. :confused2:

This new virus and one of the most contagious, ever seen. There is nearly no help for those who get very ill from it. Where as the flu, there are many options to help people get through it and its much less contagious, plus we have vaccinations for it. (I get them!) Its hard to let people back to any location, where they might catch this new stink'n virus.

In my World a lockdown was unnecessary. Self control and safety measures have handled the spread.

Contagious, yes. Primarily because you have 1-7 days (median 3) where you are infected, contagious but do not have "flue like symptoms" so you are unaware that you are contagious.

No help for those who get very ill, as I understand, it's very much like a bad flu that has turned into a pneumonia, not much that can be done for that either.

It's worth noting that in New York City testing, 20% of the people tested had the antibodies for CV19 (indicating that they had become sick with it and then recovered), but they had no idea that they had ever been sick with it.

I was sick in late Jan thru all of Feb with the "flu". Even had the covid toes. Saw my Doc last week for my annual checkup and the first words out of his mouth were, " You know you had the Corona Virus, right? " Anyway, they didn't have anti body tests...
