The white smoke video (on startup)

How common is this white startup smoke for various diesels? My (Yanmar) 4710 is the first diesel I've ever had but it has never smoked white like that - at any temperature. In fact unless the light is hitting it just right I don't even see the tiny amount of black (soot) smoke puff it does put out when starting. I think if I saw that white cloud now I'd panic that I'd just broken something. Is this a typical characteristic of only certain types of diesels? (glo plug or direct/indirect injection)

The dealer told me this is more common these days due to emissions standards, etc. Not sure exactly what the deal is...but this is what they say. So if that's true, older engines wouldn't be prone to doing this. Also these 4x20 tractors are set to rev up once you start it. Notice how it revs briefly when I started it. I didn't do that myself...the tractor does it every time it starts. If the engine is already warm, it blows a puff of black smoke. I'm assuming most JD's are set to rev like this now...but I don't know.
