....repeating that chorus line with every post...
How about we discuss the pros and cons and alternatives for the sharp rearward angled teeth on the EA bottom tines that tend to snag brush making dumping the load more of a hassle than it should be? Those sharp fishhooks have advantages when trying to rip roots but are otherwise unnecessary. Given it would be a simple change in the CAD file, couldn't EA give customers a choice of how aggressively the tine teeth are cut?

Repeating a chorus line??????
We've already been there LONG ago, circled around and went there again a month or so ago. Addressed it and the phone still hasn't rang for smooth tines.

how about some thoughtful discussion to help potential buyers work through the choices.

Besides the frequent disagreement concerning width and lid configuration, I think this thread is packed with thoughtful, helpful discussion and MANY PICS of grapples on about every compact tractor known to man, thanks to Proud EA Customers showing off Wicked Grapples.

I'll translate this in to truck accessories. If I'm looking for wheels, fender flares or some other modification to my truck, the first thing I do is look for pics and feedback about said modification to a truck like mine.
Same storyline, different subject.

This thread is a goldmine for the prospective grapple customer. There are some stinky patties lying in the path along the way, but I think the journey is worth if for priceless, grapple choosing information.

I think we're "light" years ahead of the competition....see what I did there?

For example, Land Pride has a new 54" rake style grapple(SCG0554) intended for small compact tractors like the B series Kubota and new BX which features a universal quick attach.
It's been in their price book since October of 2016, but NO pics could be found of one. None in literature, none on their website, none from dealers and most definitely none from customers until on customer finally received one around a week ago. Isn't this odd?

The 55" EA Wicked Grapple Rake obviously blows it away, but isn't it good that we share as much as we do and interact with our current and prospective customers?

No dispute from me on that but we wouldn't want you to rest on your laurels.

Now, back to work. How's the design coming along for the new mid weight grapple with 42+" opening?

I guess we will revisit your grapple opening soapbox again. Rather than typing, I dug back into the archives from 10-13-2016. Same answer from me and same participants as present time....

Nope, you're dreaming again. I like my tines. I'm happy with both of my grapples because they do what I need, not what you profess!

Sorry, I thought you were the one who complained a month or two ago that it was hard to dump brush because it hung up on the sharp lower tines.

Well, all I can say is that I use the full 42" opening on my grapple ALL the time especially when collecting brush or moving stumps. And, if wider opening isn't desirable, why did EA increase the opening on the mid weight grapple when you redesigned it? Why does the mega open to 42"?

Perhaps your customers don't know what they are missing? Maybe that's why so many opt for the dually version! (Hah!)

Nothing wrong with the wider opening on the mega, but it's intended for larger tractors which will not be bothered by a taller back, taller lid, longer tines. Those changes add weight, extend the center of gravity and lessen prying and pushing ability, especially on compact tractors.

rlgustafson "weighed"(i kill, i kill  ) his options and decided the mega was for him. Had he wanted to maximize lift capacity, he may have opted for the lighter compact model.

Choices, Choices. We have came a long way and have many choices.

Once again, that wasn't me. I have no problems, with brush, with either grapple.

Here's another reply from back in 2016 when this was repeated. Mahindra 2538 with a 60" Single Lid Wicked Grapple.

Perhaps you might design the perfect grapple, start your own manufacturing company, and start a new thread called;

The "Everyman Grapple" Opposing Viewpoints Unwelcome Here.

Best post yet.

It's a grapple. Not exactly rocket science.
People are happy with their EA grapples. Only the island tractor man is unhappy, and he doesn't have one.
Go figure.
On a side note, I'm going to see Tom Petty on the 22nd.

What? No photo to go with the inane comment? Travis will be upset.

IT, ship your grapple to me. I'll give it a test on big tractor

You can pick it up same day but, I'll take a picture of it for you.

No pics from the customer, but, in smaller tractor news, Mike from Virginia has a new 50" Wicked Grapple on his Massey 1726E, which is a compact 24hp machine similar to a B series Kubota and our Bobcat CT122 that Ted used in the awesome video featuring the first little grapple we made!
Travis

"Excellent piece of equipment. I searched high and low for a lightweight but strong attachment for picking up large logs. I am using a 26 HP Massey Ferguson 1726E Tractor. At only 250 +/- lbs, this Grapple allows me to pick up that extra weight of the logs. I am picking up logs well over 1,000-1,500 lb logs with no problem. Works great with the hydraulic capability of my L105 Loader. Outstanding piece of equipment."

What no critical thinking allowed? Starting a new business with your grapple ideas is bad?

I post pic's of uses of the EA grapple in the EA grapple thread. Where's your pic's of your uses of your EA grapple? Do you have a EA grapple?

Sounds like you are upset.

He hasn't responded to my offer to "test" his perfect grapple with my 100 HP Tractor that can lift 5000+ lbs. either.

That testing should confirm if a light weight, narrow, single lid grapple really is the true "Everyman's Grapple".

Even "Everyman's Grapple" has limits. Abusing equipment may be fun, but it's at your risk, and one couldn't call it "faulty" if it fails on a tractor more than twice as large as was intended.
