Yep. The best grapple is any grapple you can get your hands on.
Exactly on point! We all seem to WAY over analyze the minor differences in grapples. ANY grapple is 100 times better than a bucket. Even a bolt on thumb makes your equipment many times more useful.
There are times where a dual lid will be better for the job at hand, but not necessary.
You can see in this pic how with a single lid, you would be more apt to lose part of the load.

With a single lid of less width, the logs would have teeter tottered up at the ends more.
If the logs had been piled nice and straight, this wouldn’t have mattered.
In these pics below, you can really see why the wider dual lid will be able to hold more in certain situations.

Two trips turned into one by being able to hold double.


There are very few instances where the narrow single lid won’t “work” for the job, regardless if it takes a little extra time is a little less efficient. At the end of the day it’s not that big of a deal.
