Back in 87 when I got my Yamaha Big Bear, I was loading it on a tilt trailer. It was a 4X4 and climbed up the incline like nothing. But the trailer didn't go down so I tried to move up just a bit. Well it went more then a bit and that bed came down so fast that even with all four wheels locked up it slid and flew right off the front and smashed into the back of my 87 Blazer. Of course I looked around to see who was watching. And up in the kitchen window was my wife laughing. She is never watching when I do something right.
I also notice that after you pass 70 those things happen more often. Or at least it seems like I'm always saying you dumby why did you do that.:laughing:

"She is never watching when I do something right." Why is that I have the same problem?

I was mowing beside the driveway along a 5 board oak fence with the B7500 with FEL and rear finish mower. The small strip of grass sloped toward the fence. I got too close and trapped myself right against the fence. Had to drag the tractor sideways with the truck to get it off the fence. Meanwhile, a teenage girl had to wait as I drag my tractor back on the road. I'm sure she was impressed.

I was brushhogging with the L5240 using a two wheel hog. I don't use the top-link when mowing because I use the 3pt arms to adjust the height and the hog is very heavy. Went down a short, steep bank and heard a terrible noise. I turned about and saw nothing. The tractor and mower sounded fine. Later found that I had "mowed" my draw bar and bent it pretty bad. Mower blades barely scratched.

Saw my neighbor do it, with my own 2 eyes, and to this day I still can't believe it. He got a 8" maple that he was cutting hung up. Walked over to see if I could help, but he was already tugging on it with the pickup he just got back from the body shop. Never pull on a 40' tree with a 20' chain. Yep, right across the bright, shiny red roof. We both looked at each other, didn't say a word and I left him to his misery. 12 years later, we still laugh about it when we see each other.

Just today I was doing the 50 hr service on my BX 1860. I had a gallon of shell Rotella; it calls for 3 qts. I dumped in 3 qts., nothing showed on the stick. I put in another pint, still nothing. "WTH", sez me. I dump the rest of the the oil in, thinking Shell must have shorted me on the gallon. Not so. I didn't put the drain plug back in. :confused2:

The big mulcher was throwing debris like mad so I fired up my tractor which was in the line of fire and I raised the FEL, but forgot the stump grinder.
Luckily I was backing up, an looking back, and realized I had lifter the draw, and not the 3pt lever after only a few inches.

PHEW!

The spotter did see me do this of course.

The one nobody saw I am starting another thread on, because I want to warn people... (look for something like "OMG My GRAPPLE FELL OFF" in the Kioti Owning & Operating thread in a couple hours - Dinner is on and it smells delicious).

Be well,
David

That's hilarious! Much better to have this kind of goof than one that damages your equipment. I hope this is the kind that I make!

I did it a couple of years ago, and your attitude about it is the attitude to have, but apparently my since of humor drained out with the oil. :)

pulled off old rotted back deck and all that was left was a couple posts. thought well i would just back up to tractor and use the lift arms to pop them out. so i tossed chain around the post and end of lift arm. hop on tractor gave it a little gas just to barely move things till chain was tight. alright mower power. ok, more gas and more power. i ended up doing good old wheelie. just inch further i would of rolled it over on top of me.

what got me, was i was thinking 3pt lift arms low on the tractor. vs an allis chalmers early 1950's CA tractor were the lift arms are almost above top of the rear tractor tires. ((never try to pull something high on tractor!))

===============

tree branches (grrrr) 1st time ok my fault, 2nd time ok my fault, 3rd time i just started butchering everything in sight, i could reach. that ended up taking me a good day and little bit more to remove anything i could possibly nail me in the face.

================

not sure about ROPS. but a few months back mom came out to help clean up the farm. and she put tractor in gear to back out. and tore out part of the shed door.

For sure. Some people dump in the right amount of oil and call it good without checking. Would have fried that motor in no time!

I dread the day that I leave the oil plug out or the oil filter off. I already forgot to tighten my new hydraulic filter on my tractor. " Whats that funny hissing sound? Aww cra_..."
