Took a walk to Burger King for lunch, I need to regain some of the weight I lost. Talk about the cost of eating out!
$7.66 for a XT burger with medium fries and a medium soda. But it痴 only a burger.
While I知 at it, what is the true cost of a sack of potatoes? The last time I bought 10 lbs of potatoes it was $ 7.50.
Now is that the real cost? If you factor in the farm price supports I pay through my taxes to warehouse a hill of taters its more like $50 for 10 lbs.
If I don稚 eat a potato it is still coating me $50 for what I not eating. Now I am not saying that farmers shouldn稚 make a living, but why not let market forces set the price? It would still cost me $50 for potatoes, and we would save to cost of the government to administer the program.
Another point I don稚 understand. When I buy peppers at the market, I pay $ 2.75 / lb. In the farmers field, the farmer gets x $ per bushel. The farmer sales his crop by the volume and I buy by the pound. Some where I feel I am getting ripped off.
