This thread got me thinking about all the stuff I used to find. A tomahawk head made out of sand stone, some arrow heads, misc. pipes but I think the best was a balloon with a letter from a little girl in 3rd grade. It said whoever should find the letter please mail it back with a little info on who I was ect. Now the kicker was it was from Springfield Illinois. It was ironic because I live in Sprinfield TWP NJ. So that letter had quite a haul. I did mail it back but I never heard anything back. I think that was in 88' Ah the memories.

In the picture; is that your house, or the neighbors?
I'd love to put some of mine behind a big fence....

BTW, the reason I call them "idiot neighbors" is because their land survey shows a PROPOSED 50' right-of-way NEXT to their property. They assumed this gave them the right to use this 50' piece as their own. They removed our survey stakes, TWICE, then the woman that lives there cursed (like a drunken sailor) the guys working for me when they were setting the survey stakes back in place again in preparation for installing a fence. Police were called, yadda, yadda, yadda, then it took more than a year before the township attorney would say, "That is YOUR property line, you CAN put up your fence there." (see fence in attachment)

The (ugly) blue (with dark brown trim) house behind the fence is the neighbors I'm referring to. Pic was taken from my back deck. The proposed ROW was supposed to go along the long side of their property, because the road I live on meets another at a pretty good angle. Presumably this was proposed when the "block" I live on was planned for "suburban type" development (1/2-1 acre plots).

I found this burried in the weeds on the upper left corner of our 2.33 acres back in 1971.
I used it one time that year and put it in the car port/garage where you see it here.
It's been in there now for 37 years.
We moved here in 1966 and hadn't see it before 1971.
Hard tellin how many years it had been laying there before we moved here.

What exactly is it that you found. CMU block with some sort of bars across. What is that for?

Looks like an old drag harrow to me (I think that's what it's called). Personally, I'm more interested in it's "old iron" neighbor, looks like from the later 30's or early 40's. ;) What is it? :D
