Things I do and don't like about my F-150

Ford is not alone nor the only culprit. I put them in the same category as the 18+ wheels/rims. Hate the big wheels, I much prefer a nice set of ~16" wheels, but I think it would look weird if you had those smaller wheels with the truck being that much taller/larger. I don't think you can go under 17" for factory rims these days.

i thought it was nothing but a marketing ploy to maintain cargo capacity. Back in the day you would fill with packing peanuts then take the volume of the packing peanuts as the cargo volume. with ever shorter beds, they needed to make them taller to keep the capacity numbers up so people wouldnt think a 6' or 5' bed is the same size as that minitoyota had 20 years ago. (which 4 the record, my 94 yota has better ground clearance is 4wd and i can easly reach into the back of)

One thing I don't like about Fords is resale value, they have so many rebates it makes trade in nil

i thought all the fleet vans/trucks and such (including the one tons) were still 16" steel rims.

I also had a '04 Toyota and found the bed height to be just about perfect. I never thought about bed height in that way. I would pay to have a shorter (less tall)one.

Good point, I didn't think of that. I still think it has more to do with appearance. Everything went "Urban".

I have done as good or better with my Fords as compared to the GM's, Dodge, Honda, Toyota, ect. Maybe the Honda and Toy did a little better but the rest were on par. I think a lot of it has to do with what sells in your region.

I have had a F350 for my daily driver for years. 03,04,06,06,11 I just went to a 2012 F150 4dr 4x4 Harley edition. This truck...so far is the nicest truck I have ever owned. The only downsides I have noticed is the fuel mileage averages 14.1 (6.2 V8) and the 5 1/2 foot bed. Other than that im esthetic with the truck. And....wow does this thing haul azz.
