I work in a machine shop and have access to mills, lathes etc. and my boss let's me do what I want. I know, I'm so blessed! I have 3 welders at home, a Hypertherm plasma cutter, Ellis 1800 band saw and hardly ever use any of it anymore since my boss lets me do it at work while the milling machine I run is running (3 axis). Here are a few projects I have made in the past. First is a gooseneck hitch.

Second is a reese hitch. Had it powdercoat painted. If your wondering what the offset hitch to the left is for it's for pulling the haybine with offset tongue to give more room on the road. I also made something to go in it.

The offset hitch also houses my deer skinning rack. It rotates 360ー & I made it offset so I can let tailgate down and also pull trailer with it in hitch. Made all the pins & pulleys out of stainless. Also made an adjustable stainless gambrel.

I had a friend with a machine/welding/sheetmetal shop. He gave me free access to his facility and it sure came in handy when I did the suspension and axle swap on my truck. All I had to do was pop over when I needed to make some sort of doodad. Most of the time I could dig the material out of his scrap bin. I did buy him a really nice Miller plasma cutter as thanks. I sent a lot of business his way too.

Sadly when all the silicon stuff went off shore he went out of business. Now there is nothing in a valley that used to be full of machine and tool and die shops. The few machine shops left really struggle to hang on.
