Things we see on our land

Great pics. I wish that I had some deer like that on my land. We see a few does, and ocasional little buck, but mostly we just see deer tracks. We're not sure if the hogs have driven them off, or the land is so thick that the deer numbers are just naturally low.

I was by the pond this afternoon and there is something rolling in the water shield weed - an otter! It was dragging box turtle and went right by me; says I: hey you little fart, what are you doing. It actually got offended, talking to an American otter in czech is proly quite rude. It moved under the canoe and after a while continued under the weed away from me.

Anyway, it got to the shore near by and started on the turtle, I took my chance and brought the kids and a camera. Pictures are so so, the last one was taken across the pond. But it was an otter, no doubts about it. Funny little guy

I snapped this one from about 100 yards. He was eating a crows wing.

So the otter came back. Unfortunately it was too dark and too far for pictures, but this is what happened. We got home and the dogs were all wet and excited. We found out the otter was sitting on the fountain floater in the middle of the pond and dogs were running round and round the pond trying to get to it. Montmorency every so often tried to swim, but he does not stand a chance against otter in water.
I tried to take pictures, but nothing worked, so we locked up the dogs and waited for the little guy to slip away - but the timer on the fountain clicked and water started shooting up right under his butt I have to say it kind of p%^%^$%$d him off and he was gone

I was seeing this one around my corn pile, but as you can tell by the picture, I won't be seeing it any longer It's the first buck I shot with my bow.
