That's a hole! You got your tractor there and built a storage building... I'm impressed!

( I have a B4672 backhoe on my 7610. I looked in the manual and this Kubota backhoe is also listed for application on your 7500. The backhoe kit requires some reinforced attachment points on the tractor. I don't know if that [the reinforcement kit] is part of the B4672. It was installed new on my tractor before delivery.

The backhoe digs well in the decomposed granite soil we have around here. I've also dug up some boulders that were too big to pick up with the bucket. I just scooped/scraped them out of the ground and rolled 'em out of the way.

I got a 12" bucket with mine. The smallest available from Kubota is a 10" bucket. Error on the small side unless you have soft soil. The smaller bucket puts more digging force across the smaller area--making it easier to break up the granite shale I enounter here.

Henro has it about right, 15 min. give or take. Partly depends on how often you do it - there are little quirks that over time you forget and then may spend 5 minuts messing with before remembering, "oh, yeah, that's how you do it". Not too bad, really, considering how handy a BH is when you need one.

Although I gotta admit I don't do it more often than I have to /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif...

theboman sez: "That's a hole! You got your tractor there and built a storage building... I'm impressed!"

Almost, but not quite. The shed is a 10' x 20' prefab unit that was on the property when we bought it. It was moved to it's present location to make room for a garage/shop. The shed is (now) at the base of a 2 to 1 sope. It was this slope that I dug out with the backhoe. 7' wide 25' long, wall uses 2' and leaves a 5' wide finished area--which is wide enough to drive the Kubota B7610 into.

I wanna backhoe..... I have no clue how often I'd use it but I want one. Maybe Woods will give me one.... you know an endorsement deal. Oh, dreaming again.

Woods 7500 with subframe on my B7800 is on or off in under 5 minutes. The subframe mount and using tractor hydraulics (rather than a PTO pump) makes it very easy and quick.

They really dig well. I have a B7500 with 3pt mounted 4972 BH. I live in Alaska and below the 3-4 foot of topsoil is hard compacted rock. The 10 inch bucket really works well but is not to be confused with an excavator. It will dig but takes time to move a lot of material. It goes through dirt like butter but needs a little more finesse to pull up big boulders. I have also dug up some monster stumps but it takes a while. Smaller trees come right up with a few strokes however. If you need a digger you will not be disappointed. After reading all the posts about 3pt version vs frame mounted I was really unsure as to which way to go. At this point (140hrs) I have no regrets about the 3pt attachment. As to price, yes they are expensive. When compared to my box blade it does not compare in a heads up price/effectiveness comparison. Of course the box blade is just a bunch of 3/8" steel welded together though.

I have a B2910 with a Woods 6500 3 point hitch mount. I am quite satisfied with the performance. I recently have been using it to remove the stumps of some ancient yew bushes.

My unit has its own hydraulic pump which runs off the rear PTO. It is a fun little machine to operate and gets the job done. I can take it off in about 10 minutes. It probably takes me about 15-20 to get it on the tractor.

Also, I do have the reinforced toplink for this heavy duty implement.

I got a 3pt mount because I have a 72" Mid Mount Mower which can be pinned in the up position while using the hoe.

I feel I got a great deal on it, I paid 3K for it this year, It is a used 2001 model.

But the best thing about the backhoe is: NO MORE SORE BACK, ANYTHING BEATS USING A SHOVEL!

Henro's tale 3PH Backhoe Limiter (safety) bar works... may be a reason to give some preference to a subframe mount over a 3PH.

Unless, of course, your ROPS is well-drilled so you would risk no more than a nasty bruise on the noggin if the limiter bar failed.
