I would go with the 16'' I just have one bucket 18'', I think that is better for me than having extra buckets that you never use.....

I would probably go with the 16" on that size hoe.

I have a 9" and an 18" for my KB2375 on a CK30hst. I figured the 9 would be nice for drainage, pipe running ditches. If I hit clay or wet soil, it's a SOB to empty, so I usually only take have bucket fulls and that slows down digging. The 18 is used for all other general digging but if the ground is hard, it's a little tougher digging. If your going with one bucket to start with, I would get a 16". Not as hard on the tractor/bh and it will dump better. The 12" would be even easier on the tractor but you could run into dumping issues. Shaking the bucket wastes time and tougher on the bh itself.

Kioti website lists 9,12, 16, 18, 24 & 36 as standard sizes. I知 looking for one good all around size as a starter bucket I have zero experience to go on, the soil here is pretty rocky small, large you name it we致e got it. There is clay out back in the field where it have some water drainage issues I haven稚 dug much at all in the other areas around the house.I need to do some run off control ditching, and moving some big stones back onto stone walls , I want to run an underground conduit to an out building, and I知 sure many other things. If I need a specialized bucket I could buy it at a later date when the need presents itself.

As above....narrow buckets will plug readily, unless you have sandy soil.
You probably should start with the widest bucket that you are confident your machine will handle.

And here is where my inexperience kicks in , I have no idea what this machine will handle, hopefully before I pull the trigger on this purchase there will be a couple folks who are actually using this model backhoe on the 2610 who chime in. Right now I’m leaning wider than before, maybe 16ish or .......

And Levi333 is using one for all around work on the same machine out in Oregon. I wonder what the digging I’d like in Oregon?

I have an 18" bucket that I use as my all purpose bucket here in my soil which has clay as well as some rocky areas. I would vote either 16" or 18".

I have a 2018 CK2610 with the KB2475L backhoe. I have the 12 bucket. My property is very rocky. I can not dig 3 without hitting rocks. I have also dug out a bunch of stumps with it.

When I bought it there were no thumbs available although the backhoe has the mount welded on for it. I would like to add the mechanical thumb.

While I am sure the hydraulic thumb is very nice and I have used them on normal tracked excavators, I think on a small limited backhoe the mechanical one will be fine.

Two years after my purchase I am still happy I got the backhoe. I have a bunch more work to do this year with it. It goes on and off the tractor very quick and easy once you know the process it really only takes a few min.

Valkyrie, are you happy with your 12” bucket or would you recommend a step up to 16”? Glad to hear you’re happy with it I’m looking forward to getting mine!
