Thinking of Buying a 5035.

There have been a number of manufacturers for Mahindra loaders. KMW, Buhler, Ansung and TYM off the top of my head. KMW used to use hard lines, but switched to mostly hoses a few years back. You can conjure up some reasoning for it and try to justify some advantages, but I think it was just a cost cutting measure. I prefer as much tubing as we can, and soft lines from there.

Advantages of hoses is they do not crush or kink easily, they can be made/purchased about anywhere and they have less connection points, hence less potential leaks at connection points. Most tractor places have a hose machine, but most can't make up hard lines. Disadvantages are that hoses have a shorter lifespan than hard lines, and being not as rigid they can get out of place and rub on things, etc.

So there are pros and cons, but all the same if cost were not a factor, I think we would see more hard lines. Just my opinion....

I have had 2 different 580 Case backhoes. Done more repairs on hard lines cracking due to vibration than hose repairs. Actually 2 to 1 to be exact. They all end up having to be maintained in one way or another. ;)

Like I said, I have a back ground in high pressure lines. I had still rather have hardlines. There is no reason for hardlines to crack unless they are inferior tubing. The only lines I ever saw in the years I built high pressure hydro lines that cracked or leaked in a hard line, was when there was a quality issue with the tubing. Which is very common with some manufacturers. Some tubing is extruded others have a seam that runs the length of the tube, usually that is the one you will have trouble with.

They are suppose to deliver my tractor and hoe today! I had hooks welded on the bucket. SO, I will be out playing today!

I have no idea about what all the hardline options are, don't really care. All I know is just what has happened with the hydraulic lines on 2 different machines that I have owned. 2 different cracks, (not splits from seemed tubing) that happened from vibration and 1 hose that got tugged on and ripped open. So actually not even a failure.

Hope that you enjoy your new tractor. ;)

Well, got my tractor and hoe! Got a few problems with rusted pins and things. This one had been on the lot for a while, but they are running out of the tier three tractors. There are only 3 left in a five state area around me.

Man, that loader is SLOW! I was afraid looking at the numbers it would be, but after driving the 4035 I thought it might not be to bad, but it is. Hoe curls very slow also, but thats ok with me cause I'm not that good with one and I would probably tear something up if it were faster. Other than that it is SWEEET!

Spun out already in some mud backing up a slight incline with the R4 tires. Hope I dont regret getting them. The reason I went with them, we had a bad winter with freeze and thaw and everytime I got out with my other tractors I was tearing the ground up alot. Just riding around this winter with the R1 tires I have cleat marks everywhere.

I will try and get some pictures in a few days when I get a chance.

Philip,
What RPM are you at when saying it is slow. Give it between 1000 and 1500 rpm. You will find your
BH will work best at full rpm. Your tractor has the same gpm hydraulic pump output as mine. Full rpm with the BH is all use. Your BH should have a swing speed knob. Start swing out slow if your uncomfortable with the BH controls.

I started out at about 1500 RPM, then went to over 2000 just to get a respectable lift. I kept RPM at 1500 on backhoe until I get used to it and slowed down the swing. It will swing fast and other controls are ok, except the curl. The thing that is so slow on the front loader is the lift and curl. The lower and dump not to bad. Which I knew the numbers were kind of high, the 4035 is not to bad the 5035 has same output on pump but larger cylinders. What gets me is the Kubota I drove has less pump output then the Mahindra, and not much less lift but the operator times on the loader are almost exactly half of what Mahindra's are?

I didn't get to drive this model, because they did not have one in stock. First time I have bought anything site unseen. I just wanted the extra 10 HP for rotary cutter.

Philip,
BH bucket curl is slow because you don't curl fast in the ground. I always swing the dipper stick out as I dumping to get the bucket empty faster.

I have the 7520 model. It had leaks on the suction side of the pump that made it very slo at 1st. It is better since I fixed them but its still seems slo for a 17gpm pump. I noticed when timing the lift that The last few hundred rpm of engine speed had a disproportionately greater increase in hyd speed. This may mean the pump has relatively hi bypass clearances.
