I agree with Dozernut about the TV show. I love to watch the shows about guys who create stuff - just can't stand all the anger that seems to go along with it!

I have seen a show called American Restoration, but to be honest, they have nothing on Paul. Paul's work is far superior! I also think the whole aspect of being located in such a remote place could play in well with the show. We'll have to all write in to the History Channel and see if we can get Paul's shop featured in a pilot!!!

These manufactures might be watching but they'll never acknowledge what others are doing to dress up there product or improve on an already great machine. I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed seeing it and thanks for posting.

I agree with you. These guys on TV these days are over the edge. I just don't watch it anymore. To much drama with very little content. When I watch something I like to walk away after and think I might have learned something from it but I never do.
All I know is that these shows do nothing to promote family. The language is terrible and why is there always a deadline. It's all so predictable now. They weld something and then send it out for paint. Why don't they do it all in shop?

Thomas my friend. You give me way to much credit but I appreciate it very much. If you were around here in my shop you'd get a good chuckle. We have some unique people who come here to get stuff done and it's because of them I keep plugging away at it. If I ever get on a TV show you'll have to promise me you'll make a guest appearance. :thumbsup:

:laughing: Here's what you need to do. Get yourself a Piggly Wiggly bag and wrap your keyboard in it. That should keep the drools off of it. If that don't work I have some 3/16th plate left and I'll make you a drool drip catcher. I just need your head size :laughing:

Paul, I just got done waching the video and noticed when you opened the lid it was dark in the box. You need to install a dome light. In the video you were using some welding magnets. Those are the strongest looking magnets I have seen and looked like they had an on off switch. What brand are they and where did you get them. BTW nice job on the video.

Thanks Bill. I had trouble with the audio for the video so I added another one. I think in the video you looked at was the first one. It took out my narration at the end. I think this new video should have better music and my narration should be there close to the end. Ya it was dark and cold in the shop that's why the poor lighting. An interior light just may be in order :laughing:

You got the eyes of an eagle my friend. Yep they're a good mag clamp. They do have the off/on switch which I like because it's easy to remove the crap from them. They weren't expensive. I'm thinking around $15 each at the time. I purchased them at Princess Auto.

Like others have said on this forum, I've gotten fed up with the American Chopper, American Hotrod, Howe & Howe Tech, Monster Garage, et al ad nauseum format of conflict, egos, etc, hack work show. I liked TLC's Rides; but that didn't last long because it didn't go for the conflict and melodrama. There is/was a series called Brewmasters on one of the cable networks that has/had promise as they focused on making beer and the history/inspiration for a particular style of beer while keeping the egos and personal back stories (e.g. TMI - Too Much Information) in check.

One other thing I've noticed about Paul's videos is that he understands the concept of editing to move a story along. How many times have we seen a vendor's web site video of whatever it is they are trying to sell that is linear in nature with unnecessary footage?

Congratulations on another fantastic build! Wow, when you get some extra time on your hands, look out! I do hope you made an extra one - that will look really nice on the front of my Grand L!

Some questions for you:
1. How did you end up connecting it to the front brush guard? I couldn't really tell by the pictures.

2. I noticed that you included a 12v adapter plug - what do you envision using this for? Or was it just a matter of 'you could'?

3. When you start a project like this, do sketch it out in detail before you start or just sort of create as you go?

Thank you Mike. I appreciate your nice comments. The shop you see is ours meaning my wife and I. We are a small mom and pop operation and just started our 16 year in business last week.

It's just me and the wife that work here. I do the easy work (the repairs, machining,welding, restoring,painting and fabrication) while the wife does the hard stuff like bill collecting and paper work.

I've thought about doing some online stuff but to be honest most folks don't want to pay for this type of stuff. I get many emails and PM's but the average folk don't want to pay much for it so I don't pursue it.

We do well here at our little modest shop. We own what we have but it takes allot of hours working to keep up with it all. I can't complain though. Raised a family here because of the shop and the two boys we have turned out great and went out in the world to help others by becoming proud members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Our 29 year old boy is in Afghanistan now. I consider them our greatest accomplishment. Here's a few pics to give you a visual of what our modest operation looks like.

:laughing: Lloyd in this case I can honestly say I had to much time on my hands. We seldom take much time off but this year we suffered through two weeks off. Just about killed me to be honest.
As for the blank Cheque. Don't leave it completely blank, Just sign it. I'll fill in the amount :thumbsup:

Wow, Paul. Nice work! I especially like the non-skid step tread. Very cool and really handy. I had to surf back and forth to see how the box fit in between the struts. The quarter away lights are a great idea. Pulling across traffic on a roadway needs the flashing lights up front like on your loader. Turning into traffic needs those angled lights........ And they look like they were born on the tractor. :thumbsup:

I was going to use plywood. Guess I'll have to do it out of metal now...

Ed "Big Daddy" Roth gave birth to the "Rat Fink" that took up residence in my pigsty. Actually I haven't seen a blasted mouse in quite some time knock on wood.

My last boss could only dream of looking as good as "Rat Fink;" but she would have to be called "Rat Finkette."
