Kubota BX25D
Hello! I'm new to this forum and the tractor world in general. I bought a used grass catcher (GCK60-23BX) for my BX25D with 54 inch deck (RCK54P-23BX), but needed a new boot kit because the boot that came with the catcher was for a 60 in deck. Checked a couple of dealers and on line, and the boot cost $370 - but that's not all - the metal connecting pin - the size of a pack of cigarettes - costs an additional $172. All told, it will cost me about $550 to hook this up. Any thoughts on options? This is insane!!

I had a 54 and 60" deck for my BX22... Don't remember needing a different boot for the grass catcher.

Look up a universal boot on Amazon, just make sure to measure the spot where the grass is expelled on your deck, and be sure to get one long enough. Take some poster or cardboard and trace that spot. Cut out the box to your stencil cut. Make sure of the hose end size also. I got one several years back for just a riding mower, but it was only around $35, if I remember right.

Thanks! I looked up a couple of universal boot options - might work. Shame Kubota feels it is necessary to gouge people like that, though.

Well, I asked about the cost of a new grass catcher for the BX25 and was told (I think) $2200. I was floored. Needless to say, I didn't buy it. So, that they want $550 for a couple of parts doesn't surprise me.

John: Welcome to the Fourm and the Tractor World. Your BX25D is a fantastic machine that will treat you well for many years. One more Welcome is in order--The cost of replacement parts. I have found that Kubota replacement parts prices are all over the place, sometimes way more expensive than you would think and sometimes a bargain.

Personally I appreciate that Kubota offers the replacement parts to begin with. It is incredible that they stock so many parts for so many tractors over so many years and they are available in short order. Sometimes the replacement parts are expensive but at least they are there if you want them.

In your situation a work around may be possible with aftermarket parts and that would be fantastic. When you get it figured out Post some photos of your fix. That will help others in the future.

Glad it at least gives you another option. Or you could always bend up your own box from sheet metal and just pop rivet it together. Always other options. Post pics...

Your looking at the boot though the parts department. You can buy it though wholegoods (sales) for half that.

your also going to need a small set back kit to move the bagger beyond the backhoe mounts. Call a dealer. This is what we do :).

Thanks, everyone! I will try the wholegoods approach - that would be great. I have measured the mounts, and it looks like the bagger will fit right on the backhoe mounts - I think it just needs a bushing to increase the pin diameter to the backhoe pin size - I already bought the bushings for $1.70 apiece - now that's a bargain!! I let you all know what happens.

Can I get those parts from you guys?
