Heck posting here can get a wacko going.

I posted news that I saw that Volvo ended development of gasoline engines and future design effort will be EV's.

Waco responded that I'd better not talk about that any more or I would be found dead in a dumpster. It was phrased such that two different people I've never heard of before PM'd me saying they could identify him if I suddenly quit posting.


I started using 'California' for a screen name when I started here in 2004 because in the Before Times I posted to Yahoo Groups, Usenet, Fidonet with my real name. Until someone harvested Name, IP, etc and sent out their automated spam using real names as 'From'. I got 10,000 bounce messages from different ISP's all over the world saying 'my' intended recipient wasn't on their system. And a couple of real replies. Funniest one was some lady who received viagra spam on her state government tourism office official email and was so outraged that I think the spam must have hit a nerve ...

I never use my real legal name on any forum. That is inviting trouble, especially today.

My '5030' goes way back when I owned a Kubota 5030 HSTC that is long time gone.

He starts yelling at me, and I’ve had enough that I yell back. I tell him he’s the damned fool who bought a piece of land which had sat undeveloped for decades, because it was full of gypsum and clay and turned to a huge cow patty every time it gets any water on it.

He fired me. Three hours left he called to rehire me. I had already called a few people I knew who had worked for him before and left, and had another job lined out.

You can only put up with stupid for so long.

I don't have many pictures of my stucks with my little tractor, these two weren't too bad, the last few were worse... . The second one is older but it might not look like much but I was pulling a pull type disc at the time hooked up to the tow point just under the PTO (it's not a drawbar so I'm not gonna call it that...)...

Not sure how my wife did this one. That area is solid. Bless her heart, she dug out so much the frame was on the ground. I went out after work, dumped the 5 tons of gravel, hooked up and pulled it out.

We still laugh about it, atleast I do.

This was a great video! I didn't watch it tonight but have seen it a few times. I'm always amazed that they were able to tow it off, once the final drives were removed. I believe that in another video they showed it after they got it running.

I remember a story of a dozer that was buried at Camp Roberts Ca. in the 1950's . Could be the exhaust stack sticking out of the mud between the barrel and the sign post. It might still be there , I never heard of it being recovered

Supposedly there's a dozer lost on a pipeline, about 50 miles from here. I haven't been able to confirm it though, it was lost in the 1950s.
