99 Kubota 7300 FEL, MMM and Tiller
Hi, longish time lurker first time poster! Good to finally talk to you. (sorry it turned out a little long!)

I've been in the market for a bit now for a small tractor with loader. I have never owned a tractor or driven one. Though I rode with my grandfather many years ago on his old John Deere... :)

I need one for:

*a little dirt movement, (the city had come and dug out a little creek bed to help direct it's flow better) they left a pile of dirt along with some downed trees that they never burned down far enough to remove. Just will fill in some dips and valleys in the yard with it and maybe build up around my foundation a bit.

*dragging my driveway on occasion and spreading rock when I have some new laid down.

*do some tilling for our garden

*possibly some finish mowing (it comes with a belly mower)

*and will do some light brush hogging

*maybe a little snow removal when we get something to remove

Now on to the tractor.

It's a B7300 they have it marked as a 2000 (not to mention an L7300) model year but tractordata shows they only made them from 97-99. So I'll just call it a 99 model. It's a little smaller than I was looking for but comes with most every piece of equipment I was needing. (I was wanting to stay up around the 25hp versions). As part of the package deal the tractor comes with:
*belly mower
*FEL
*tiller (not sure how big it is yet, or brand)
*box blade (same)

I'm going to look at it tonight. They say it's in excellent condition, has been stored inside, and only has 380 hours (the 3 pictures I've seen look good). They are asking $10,500 firm. That price is up at the top of where I wanted to be. Though any additional equipment would have been extra... which would be coming along with this one.

So, any thoughts on the deal and or any advice would be appreciated. Things like the price being ok, what to check for when I'm there, maybe how much the implements all would cost me used, too small?, (though I have time and don't need any of the jobs done yesterday or quickly) etc.

Thanks for any thoughts in advance. BTW I own just over 5 acres of which about 2-2 1/2 is mowed, the other is all tall prairie grasses/weeds and trees.

I'm guessing it's too long of a post for everyone. 60 some views and no responses...

No worries.

We own three Kubota's and are happy with them.I have also operated a B7800 ,slightly larger than what you are looking at.That's seems like a fair price, tractor has low hours for the year.A little depends on the "name brands" of the implements and condition.I would offer $9,000.00.

I have a B7500 that I bought used in 2010 for $8,500 . I have been very pleased with it . Tractors seem to hold their value . You could always check the listings on Tractorhouse to see what dealers are asking .

Check hoses (hyd. as well as coolant), ask about maintenance, but if it is in that good of shape, it sounds good. Implements add up real quick. The age is not bad with that little hours. if the implements are a known brand you can get parts for, I would still offer 10 and be willing to meet the 10.5 they want

Good stuff guys I sure appreciate it.

How easy it it to reinstall the loader on this year of tractor? The pictures were without the loader so I asked them to make sure and have it mounted so I could see it work. She said her husband has back issues and won't be able to do it. But I could do it with his instruction if I wanted to. The brackets (the bolt on parts) are still there just the arms and bucket are off. Is this as easy as driving up to it and pining the thing on like I see on youtube?

Them not showing me a working loader might cost them some money... do you suppose there could be too much wrong with it if I bought it unknowing of it's working condition? I would of course inspect for hose issues/leaks etc.

Well I went and checked it out tonight. It's close to mint in shape/condition. They had their son come over and got the loader hooked up and the tiller on. It all checked out. The loader bucket still has all of the paint on it. The tires are 40% front and probably 75% rear (turf tires) no doubt OEM. :)

We left with the understanding it's mine. They are an older couple leaving the 3 acre plot and moving to the easy life that they don't have to take of anymore. The tractor has been well taken care of. They talked of the day he bought it and the fun he had with it.

When we pulled up there was a realtor sign in the front yard with a SOLD sign added on. They were headed out and won't be looking back.

They said they had a bid on it but was under what they was asking. I decided I wouldn't hold out for a lower price. And just told them to put a sold sign on it.

So come this weekend it should be home with me starting it's next life...! I left thinking... why didn't I take any pics with my phone....!

Anyway. The tiller is a Kubota, the box blade is a Rhino. He's got the triangle sign for the back still, front chains, and the owners manual for the tractor...

I couldn't be happier with this at this point!

Congratulations & welcome to TBN, Ironmagz. That's actually a very nice size tractor for a home owner. Not so big & heavy as to tear up the lawn or compact your garden soil, but big enough to do some meaningful work with the FEL and with the attachments that you mentioned. Also, you can park it under cover in a small shed or garage bay. I think you got yourself a great value and you'll be able to do a lot of otherwise backbreaking work. Trust me, the more you use it the more you will appreciate having it. So let's see some pictures!

Sounds like a good choice.

I had a Kubota B7100 that seen 3000 hours in my care. Sturdy tractor. If it has hydro siphon cooling make sure the whistle is operative and keep the rad clean. Adding rear chains will dramatically increase the pulling/pushing ability.
