I was reading through the parts interchange post and wanted to comment on the filter discussion in a new post so as to not clutter up the interchange post. I was employed by a mining company with deep pockets that spent a lot on employee education. Maybe it was propaganda? I have attached some videos explaining CAT filter assembling (they post videos that are easy to find) (I have a VHS video, which dates it, showing a CAT filter factory and they all had to wear hair nets!) . I do feel you get what you pay for and realistically, compare the machine's cost to the difference in cost between a manufacturer's filter to a fits-all brand name filter and what do you get, 1%?
I couldn't find any videos on Deutz filter assemblies to show differences, but out of an abundance of caution, I only use Deutz filters on Deutz engines (same with Kubota, John Deere etc). Most people change their oil in terms of years, so the extra cost is insignificant. You should buy your filters from a Deutz dealer, ebay parts can be counterfeit.

PT hydraulic filters are made by MP Filtri (P/N CSG-100-P10A for diesel machines). Hydraulic filtration and contamination monitoring [FAQ] | MP Filtri USA

On air filters, we were told never to remove the air filter until the external indicator went to red. Every time you open the filter housing and remove the element, some (maybe almost none) dirt gets into the intake which causes accelerated engine wear. The filters actually get more efficient in removing dirt as they accumulate debris. Some debris can look like it has horribly clogged the filter when in reality there is minimal restriction and just the opposite, some filters can look clean and trip the restriction indicator. A properly sized air filter can accumulate a lot of dirt (and hours of use) before it needs attention.
If there is a safety element (one small safety air filter inside a larger one) you could blow out the outer filter using a special air nozzle.
