Thoughts on PTO weight attachment

As a tractor newbie it is interesting to see the variety of solutions to common needs. I really like the receiver suitcase weight arrangement. Integrate that into a quick hitch and it's a winner for convenience (but maybe not cost). Find a way to use it in the front or rear and it would solve a multitude of balancing quandaries.

One thing to consider is how much weigh is a "receiver" actually going to handle safely.... I am coming from point of stability (tilt) I think a 3PH would be more stable, as time goes by the receiver (actual box) may become bent and distorted and become sloppy and there for become hazard to tractor/work operation/operator ...

I think even with my small tractor and only anticipation a 600 pound (or so) ballast I will stay with 3PH (quick hitch) concept...

I have a cheap decently made Titan ballast box with 4x4x8 inch cement blocks, I can remove weight quickly or add weight quickly. The box is 100lbs empty and each block weights 25lbs and I can put 10 in the box if I need to, I use 8 block pretty much all of the time. With no QH the box is fairly close to the back of the tractor and doesn't impede me moving close to things..

So I bought a PTO mount trailer hitch receiver. It seem that it could also be a good and fairly simple way to add weight by just buying a 2" hitch
and putting weight on it.....for example just build a box around one and fill the box with concrete and a little rebar. Then just put it into the hitch receiver when I want the ballast on the back. Think this would work..???
How are you going to pick it up and slide it into the receiver?

How about adding a weight bracket like this?: Cat. 1 Sub-Compact Tractor Hitch Receiver & Weight Bracket for 3 Pt Hitch Green | eBay
