Massey GC1710.
Tractor Pulverizer, Yard Tool 48" Southern, Single Roller Big Tooth

This one in particular

I am aware of what the shortcomings will be. (I think) but I have never run one.

Would be used on my GC1723e.

About $6k difference in price, lol I’m already going to add a tilt deck trailer next year.

You doing this for a full time job? Creating yards? I bought one since it was $250 and the previous guy used it for just his yard. I've used it more for extra weight on my disk (strapped on top of the disk). I did use it to plant grass seed. Makes a nice seed bed but it doesn't really move dirt around to shape a yard. It roughs up the ground to allow good seed/soil contact. My 2 cents...

Like using a hand plane as opposed to an electric one.

Nope not a full time job, legitimate side business. I do 3-4 jobs a month. This year out of about 25 jobs I could have used this on 2. Hence the hesitation in adding a power rake to the lineup.

I don’t plant anything, just play with the dirt and get it ready. More grading work then straight up lawn Installs.

I am aware this will not move dirt like a power rake. I am looking at this as final step after the BB, FEL or tiller work.

I would have to say that if you are in sandy soil with no rocks either one should work.
All the ground that I work stones are an issue, I don't see either of those being any more then clod breakers in soft ground.
I did see that the power harrow said rocks were not an issue, I don't believe that.

Do you already have a tiller? Used tillers around here are about a grand...

Yup, that is my go to. When working existing soil (not adding soil).

There are a couple places near me that rent them... Look and see if you can rent one around you. $6k would be lots of rental days. At least you'll know for sure how well they work (I've seen them work and the finish is great).

You said you don't seed... I would think that's pretty good money in being able to do that... (just a guess)
