P.S. It seems to me that in order to register someone as a sex offender, there should have been an adjudication to that effect. If I read your post correctly, charges may have been filed, but no action taken. If they pursue this, I would contact a good attorney; public officers can be sued you know, for doing things they are not entitled by law to do.

If a man makes suggestive comments to a women he is charged with harassment...if a women makes suggestive comments to a man...he is charged $3.95 a minute...!

Yeah--I am going to waive the BS flag on this one as well.

I think because of sexual harassment many people are getting screwed.

Clearly we are experiencing a sea change with respect to the tolerance (i.e., severe lack thereof) of harassment behavior, mostly by men upon women, in the workplace. I expect we'll spend months or more clearing out the inventory of past sins, and dishing out justice to the perpetrators.

However, I also expect to see a very quick change in the behavior of all men in the workplace, out of simple self-preservation, that will decrease their interaction with women with whom they work with in any form. I would be surprised if we didn't see men acting much more puritan than the dictates of rules would imply, and that women will truly endure an extended period of decreased opportunity due to their exclusion from interactions with the men they work with, or the new antiseptic nature of the interactions they will be having.

I'm not trying to make a value judgment here, rather a sociological observation that forces have been put in play that will radically alter the work landscape for the foreseeable future. Women will be more protected from the unwanted interactions from men, but will also be more marginalized by the disparate treatment of them versus their male counterparts.

It troubles me to conclude that the workplace will become significantly less fair for the women within it. No man in power will want to associate with other females out of fear of retribution or a ticking harassment time bomb waiting to go off

To me, these women are un-doing alot of the gains from "women's liberation" of the past 30+ years and like mentioned, making a real victim questionable. I wonder what this will do for women in a work situation that is mostly male, perhaps like many offices. Would a smart manager add more women to the mix if a position became open, or just nudge it towards an all male staff? The answer is obvious with today's "me too" attitude.:confused3:

I don't know your age but, the Women's Liberation movement really gained momentum after the "Sexual Revolution" of the 60s.
I would never suggest that a woman can't do a man's job but, it really depends on the job and the woman's capability. So, hiring managers will no doubt continue on the path they have been on for years. That is, hiring (from the available pool) those that meet the hiring manager's idea of who they want to work with. BTW, most HR managers are women.

This I know, I have changed the way I deal with women. There are women I used to joke around with. No longer. I'm not even running for office. :confused2: IF I was running for office, no doubt someone would bring up Sally who I used to date and say I did something. I probably did but, that doesn't mean Sally wasn't willing. BTW, there never was a Sally.

We're all sexual aggressors or have been at some point in our lives, I don't care who you are. That doesn't mean we're all sexual predators. Although I am semi-retired, I still work a part time job. Knowing I'll be fully retiring in less than a year, I decided to figure out who I wanted to train to replace me in my part time position. Yeah, I have that capability. The boss really does trust my judgement, I used to be his boss. ;)

Regardless, I chose a women in what is mostly considered a male dominated company. I chose her for all the right reasons. she's smart, reliable, capable and very willing to learn. Some of the other folks that work there think I chose her for other reasons. :mur: :irked: Not much I can do about that. But, I am very careful about what I say and do with this lady, one never knows...........

Women (in general) have always had the advantage but are now using our "social conscience" to undermine conservative values. Personally, I blame Liberals but, that's just my opinion. Before I condemn a man of the things Candidate Moore was accused of, I'd like to see some evidence from at least this decade.

I think it was a prima facie case... he was over 18 she was under, they married and parents did not consent.

The part about nothing happening was more towards he was in Vietnam so no effort to extradite happened... he might not even come back as was the case for their friend... they all went to High School together.

I had met his father and mother several times... we use to have a company family BBQ each summer and they were always there... a nice couple and then married for decades...

My surprise and that of the deputies is they were wasting time going back 40 years but that is what they were tasked with...

I'm not an expert and certainly not on this subject...

What I have seen in my career is that both men and women act very much the same if the numbers are there...

What I mean is my time at the tool and die shop there were 40 men and one woman... and older grandmother type that was the bookkeeper and the men respected her very much... she was old enough to be some of their grandmothers...

Now, if a young women happened to come in or make a delivery or drop off or was a young engineer it would be food for talk in the break room... the guys were relentless commenting about her attributes or lack of... and yes some would be vocal... in other words matching the stereotype

What surprised me and maybe what few realize given the reverse situation it is much the same... at least from working in an environment where 90% of the staff and all management are female...

I'm embarrassed by some of what I hear... even to parts of male anatomy in surgery or they would do so and so... referring to one of the ortho reps.... who played one season of pro ball....

California and specifically the SF Bay Area just might surprise you as to what is and isn't...

The order went out to cull the files for sexual predictors... there is no statute of limitations if deemed a predictor unless expunged which is a legal proceeding... matters not that two involved were much in love and spent a lifetime together...

They wanted to marry and they wanted to marry before he went to Vietnam... remember this was the 1960's in the belly of the beast... the SF Bay Area where you couldn't turn around without the war being news...
