I won't belabor our permanent disagreement beyond this post.Sorry, but I think you are confusing draft as a nautical term with draft as a farming term. Draft, as a farming term is the horizontal force required to pull an implement through the soil.
The draft on a 3PH is controlled by raising and lowering the implement by the draft control feature as the implement encounters variation is soil. The position control on a 3PH simply establishes a baseline depth.

My MF2660 Operators Manual, pp. 5-21, says, quote, "Draft Control is used to control the working depth of soil-engaging implements." The sensing is all vertical axis. The feedback control loop adjusts lift only in the vertical axis. Any horizontal forces are secondary to the feature, not the goal, and are not controlled by it.
