Thanks BCP. That's the way I had it in the first place so I gather it must have been right. The problem I had was the chain on the right arm kept catching the lug of the tire. I think perhaps the tab where the chain attaches to the arm has been bent outward slightly causing the chain to stick out towards the tire a bit to much. Get out the torch and hammer???

Hi,

I have the same tractor, and it actually is a pretty easy fix one of two ways.
1st: the turnbuckles will stop the chain, or the turnbuckle itself from hitting the tires, however you have to adjust the opposite side to to stop it from hitting the tire. This will make sense when you have an implement attached, lifted, and if you push on it in the direction towards where it is hitting the tire. If it still hits the tire, the tighten it a bit more, until it stops, and then try to make the two even. If that does not work you will have to:

2: Replace the crossbar. They are inexpensive enough to replace at about $20 plus shipping, and if you heat the old one, and bend it, it will probably be weaker, and bend bag easier. You have to simply remove one rear tire(remember the bolt that holds the tire on is behind the tire, not the lug nuts exposed on the rim.) Then you should be able to push the old crossbar through, or hit it and spray it, and it will come out. I replaced mine, and I have a second on hand so when I have to do it again some day, I can. I do some pretty forceful plowing, and shoveling with the 3 point lift, so I am ok with a cross bar that gives, and is replaceable instead of doing more costly damage to the tractor. These two should help you solve the issue. I had the same problem, and after multiple adjustments, my chains and turnbuckles do not hit my tires, even with the heaviest loads on the back. Most of the time you will have to replace the crossbar if it is bend, because adjusting it will really not help that much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CROSS-BAR-f...341?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d06b1e025

Well, thanks a bunch for that Mitch! What a great write up and with pictures no less. This is an awesome forum thanks to helpful people like yourself.

The cross bar on my Iseki is fine at this point. It's actually the other end where the chain hooks on that has been bent outward slightly. I think it's time for me to take the turnbuckle off and see if it can be freed up enough to get some more adjustment from it. Thanks again. Have a great weekend! John.

Mitch, you do not have to remove a tire to change out the crossbar, if you have the single larger diameter hole (see my picture) in either of your rear wheels.
Once you align larger hole in the wheel to the crossbar, the crossbar will push thru the hole.

Thanks! Thats actually very helpful, and I feel a bit dumb, I wondered what that hole was for. I always figured it was part of the wheel weight mount, but that makes perfect sense now. I am going to try that tomorrow, and as long as mine is not bent too badly, it should fit perfect. They were originally paired with a rotovator in Japan that required that you remove lift arms and that would make it much faster. Thanks again!
