We've had our mahindra for 1 season. First year using it for rotatilling. The first day it did great no problems. Second day I got half way through the patch and the three point hitch won't drop all the way. It goes down to the ground but when I start the rotatiller ot usually drops another couple inches. So it can make a pass. I've checked the knob under the seat that's where its suppose to be. This is my first new tractor my original was a 90s Ford 2120 so No one in my family understands all the new bangs and whistles

You’ve probably checked this but depending on the depth that the tiller shoes are set might be allowing the tines (depending on rest/off rotation) to contact the ground and leave the shoes up a little. Maybe the shoes were a little loose and that is throwing you off.

The knob under the seat only controls the speed at which the three point drops not the drop distance. Check the depth control to see if there is a stop set there. It is movable on many tractors to set how far the three point can be lowered or raised - kind of a mechanical limit. It got me the first time I tried to lower my box blade.

Fat chance, and wild guess, but… try lowering it with the sway arms more loose. Doubtful, but there may be some weird geometry where lift arms are wider when lowered.
Also, and more likely, if the balls in the lift arm don’t rotate, or have been replaced by a Pats hitch, the attachment’s pins will bind in the lift arm if their angle to the lift arm can’t rotate.

Another quess here: Does your tractor have a draft/depth control lever? Probably located alongside the 3-pt height control lever? If so, the lever may have been inadvertently moved (pulled up slightly), preventing the 3-pt arms from fully descending.

Check your owner's manual for correct operation, but I would think you would want it pushed to the down position (draft control off) for rototilling.
